I’ve always been fascinated by ‘cults.’ Especially the charismatic leaders who hold great sway over their members, while the rest of us wonder what the attraction is.

But there is one cult that has no members. They aren’t controlled by a leader; they are controlled by their own narrow world view. They can’t conceive of anything outside the realms of science. They even demand of science that any findings and evidence confirms their worldview. Science that’s at odds with their accepted standards becomes pseudoscience.

If that fails. They demand regulators outlaw opposing views and practices. And cut funding to heretics.

And so they miss the blindingly obvious.

These nuts live right under our noses.

      Morena bro town
Water divining rods in the hands of the right people Work and calling them “nuts” shows how narrow your perception is.
*perception … the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses.

We have a guy up here in the Far North that finds leaks and water with a diving rod and every time the soil is dug up Waala there it is. At NO cost.

Calling it witch craft shows how diluted some knowledge gets with the ignorant pushing their barrow of an alternative.
The link you provided was just full of negative words that the people use because the awareness of something through your senses is just classed as …
*pseudoscience … a collection of beliefs or practices mistakenly regarded as
      being based on scientific method.

Well Corky it has worked for many a decade otherwise why else would they use it.

Me too. Which is why the cult of trump is so fascinating to observe – the cultists who follow him have been sucked deep into the swamp and miss the blindingly obvious.

Possum, I have seen it work, too. It is hardly a ‘cult’ in any sense of that over-used word.

As it’s been done since time immemorial, there must be something in it or it would have died out long ago. People would have seen that it didn’t work and laughed at the charlatans who did it. People in the past were not stupid and completely gullible.

People who have scientically tested accepted experts at it have concluded that it is successful at only the same statistical level as chance. I imagine there are quite a few variables that can improve the odds. If, as is common, there is widespread diffusion of underground water & the rock is highly permeable then drilling a borehole below the water table anywhere will create a fast-filling well.

But who cares? If it’s cheaper to get a doswer in & they find water, all good,

I think it’s called democracy, Bloggs. Democracies have elections to decide a leader. Your lot lost..suck it up, or start your own ‘cult.’

As for MH jacket the following are my observations of it and him.

Could be it’s a flash back to his Rod Stewart days.
To show the emphasis of the cut, to show how great thou art?
He got it too early from the Tailor and they hadn’t finished it.
He wants to make a statement that he is Kool and fails dismally.
His mother gave it to him for Xmas and is howly-bagging about how he never wears it.

I am sure I have seen lots of power woman wear this.
A quick google search found All the jackets like his are Woman wear.
There is something he wants to say but can’t so he wears it??? 😉

“Can vitamin makers really pack everything you need into a single capsule or pill? They certainly want you to think they can. Here’s the evidence that they simply can’t if you’re looking for the high-quality supplementation you expect”.

    https://products.mercola.com/multivitamin-vital-minerals/?utm_source=dnl&utm_medium=email&utm_content=dpe&utm_campaign=20180306Z1_UCM&et_cid=DM190900&et_rid=234418246

“Four factors have played key roles in declining food nutrient values, with significant drops in crucial minerals like phosphorus, selenium, copper, magnesium, cobalt, calcium, zinc, and iron:”

*The start of mechanized farming in 1925
*The introduction of ammonium nitrate fertilizer in 1946
*The use of pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides starting prior to 1960
*The introduction of genetically engineered plants and glyphosate in the 1990s

“According to an Australian soil scientist, conventionally grown apples have lost 80 percent of their vitamin C. So that famous saying, “eating an apple a day helps keep the doctor away” may actually be more of a falsehood, unless that apple is grown in healthy organic soil”.

Is that multi vitamin got every thing you need.
Calcium … To provide a high level of support for your skeletal system

Magnesium … Scientific studies have reported that magnesium is helpful in supporting your lungs and pulmonary system, as well as your entire body. As you age, you’re more likely to be deficient in this important mineral. The latest research shows that magnesium may help protect your cells against the harmful effects of EMFs or non-ionizing radiation that surrounds us 24/7

Potassium …This important mineral plays a key role in your metabolism and your body’s delicate balance of water and electrolytes. The regulation of your heartbeat, your muscle function, your healthy blood pressure, and nerve impulses all depend upon sufficient levels of potassium.
if you have a healthy diet with food grown bio-dynamically or organically you may not need those multis you throw down your throat.

OK Robert Can you give us a 2 word feed back on what the problemo is, with A large majority of the world eating food that really isn’t food, just may look like it.

How hard is it to make healthy organic soil Robert?

I have grown all my vegs in big pots when I did I stint in the Big Smoke, the taste was so much different from the gas packed lettuce etc sold at the local Ozzie owned store.

I put leaves and all sorts in the pots to compost away, and I used the farrow plan always one getting empty with some mustard or some such herbs to feed the soil.
In the big smoke vegys are very cheap. With the out lying land filled to the brim with market gardens on a huge scale. Herbicides and insecticides Are is used to protect the crop from devastation. Never mind the forgotten taste or the residue that gives people Cancer.

I have seen a huge orchard in huge pots at a rental place and then transplanted when my friend brought a piece of dirt of his own.
I like that system where you bury rotten wood in the garden and don’t have to water it.

        • Ray

           /  March 7, 2018

Fallow rather than farrow which is the birth of young pigs!
That was the medieval system which most farmers no longer use though what you describe (using a green break crop) is better practise.
Fallow meant just leaving the field without any crop grown under the three field system which meant quite a large area was needed to grow food.
There are some really long term trials (300 years) in the UK without using inputs which are interesting, falling yields due to cleaner air meaning less nitrogen arriving with the rain etc

Vitamin C isn’t that healthy, the body can’t store it and it goes in one end, out the other. People who take vitamin C and think that it will do them good are deluding themselves.

I believe that the idea that sprays are carcinogenic is an urban myth, It would be counter-productive, anyway, to kill the customers.

            • robertguyton

               /  March 7, 2018

Jeeze, Kitty – your body doesn’t store water either – in one end and out the other, therefore, according to Kitty, water isn’t that healthy! Lord, preserve us from these people!

            • robertguyton

               /  March 7, 2018

“I believe…” Kitty, keep your ridiculous “believes” to yourself, if they’re so daft as to not withstand the most casual investigation. “I don’t believe sprays are carcinogenic…” – Good Lord (Protect us!)

          • robertguyton

             /  March 7, 2018

Less nitrogen! The air’s full of it! Plant legumes to extract it (free) and sequester it as nitrates (farmers pay big money for nitrates; Mother Nature provides it for FREE!).

            • Kitty Catkin

               /  March 8, 2018

I didn’t say anything about water. I said that Vitamin C can’t be stored in the body, not water. In fact, not all the water that people drink passes straight through.

Again, you are putting words in someone’s mouth and then refuting these, a childish and annoying habit. Do you think that people don’t know what they have said and won’t realise that you are doing this ? What a very tiresome and opinionated person you are.

The supposedly carcinogenic sprays have been cleared. If they were cancer-causing, many more people would have it. But the gullible will believe it, just as they believe that toothpaste is poisonous.

Has anyone seen the English newspaper that had a huge front-page story about how NZ is about to be destroyed by a tsunami ? Talk about scaremongering.

    • I saw something in New Zealand about the possibility of a 16m tsunami if there was a big enough particular type of earthquake in a particular area. But i didn’t bother to look closely at it, it’s unlikely to actually happen. They are not able to predict earthquakes yet, let alone size and effect.
