Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump to meet

Whoever is responsible for organising a meeting between North Korea’s Kim Yong Un and the US’s Donald Trump probably deserves a medal, especially if it results in a de-escalation of what had been growing tensions between the nuclear trigger happy adversaries.

South Korea has been involved in trying to bring the two together so deserves some credit, but so do Kim Yong Un and Trump if they follow through and are serious about sorting out their primary differences

It’s too soon to tell what the real intent of either is, and how this will progress, but it’s more promising than having ego driven slanging matches from a distance.

How are the Trump haters going to deal with this. If Obama had organised a meeting like this the media would be arranging a Nobel peace prize to be jetted over.
By being tough and uncompromising you can bring people to the table, with some as Trump recognized its the only way. The sanctions have worked, Trump had the Chinese finally getting on board thanks to his relationship with Xi and Nikki Haley getting unanimous support at the UN. Who knows if it will work but Kim has never met with another foreign leader, if there can be dialogue then there is hope for a nuke free Korean peninsula.
This will send Joe over the edge.. or more likely in to a cut and paste frenzy from his database of far left fringe blog sites.

Trump will get a Nobel for this if he pulls it off. That’s going to be fun to watch.

He’s on his way to maybe becoming the greatest American President in living memory.
However, he needs to be careful. Who would rule a unified Korea?

        God speed, Mr President.

The only likely outcome is another Trump tower, in Pyongyang.. The circle of Global Oligarchs gets a bit bigger & tighter ?

Mr T doesn’t understand politics.. he is just looking for more cash avenues; “Today Washington/USA.. Tomorrow the WORLD !” We’ve heard this before.. remember ? :/

I really don’t like Trump, but he deserves any credit for any actual progress he manages to make with DPRK. Lets not count those chickens until they hatch, though. A meeting is nice, but doesn’t get us closer to denuclearization the peninsula or a more liberal north. Plus it’s entirely possible this is just a case of Kim being more willing to come to the table now he has ICBM nukes, and fully intends to repeat the family tradition of reneging on the deal once some aid arrives (a la the Agreed Framework).

David Kim played the orange man POTUS#45 like a violin.Firsty the meeting was mentioned and ARRANGED by South Korea, Kim’s got his missiles and nukes and if Donald can get his mind off STORMY and her assets he will discover that he better check on the USA assets as getting and putting nukes and missiles away cost BIG MONEY

Kim has suspended his nuclear program, he said the US and South Korea can continue their war games and this is the 1st time a NK leader has met with a US leader in 30 years. Who knows what the outcome will be but its the first time in the 6 years this Kim has been in charge there has been any movement.
Mattis and Trump are a scary combination, Kim gets this, as witnessed by the near annihilation of ISIS and pretty much no prisoners taken in the process.

Kim’s not inviting trump so that he can surrender North Korea’s weapons. Kim’s inviting trump to demonstrate that his investment in nuclear and missile capabilities (with Putin’s covert technological support) has forced America to treat him as an equal.

Round one to Kim and Putin.

So the White House is already walking back from trump’s announcement only 24 hours earlier… this is starting to sound more and more like just another PR stunt to divert attention from the other shit trump’s eyeball deep in.
