    Thousands are streaming out of rebel-held Eastern Ghouta as the Syrian Army advances into the enclave. Syrian government claims to now be in control of 70% of the area. One woman interviewed said “Thank God we are safe with the army now: not under someone else’s control”?

    US Treasury’s Minuchin says Russia is targeting critical US infrastructure as US surprise-announces new sanctions over election meddling & cyber attacks. Sanctions include measures targeting 5 Russian Intelligence Services & over a dozen individuals: Russia threatens retaliation.

    Britain, Germany, France, US, release joint statement deploring Russian nerve agent attack in the UK – describing it as an assault on democracy. Russian spokesperson shown describing the allegation as ridiculous. British said to be bracing for Russia’s expulsion of British diplomats.

    British commentator noted that nevertheless “Russia seems to be holding back a bit”, possibly surprised at the breadth of condemnation pouring out of the EU & other countries – & the US.

    Putin currently in the Crimea, is expected to possibly make some announcement tomorrow & to try and regain high ground somehow.

    South Africa criticises Australia’s Peter Dutton for saying White South African farmers facing & confiscation & attacks should be given fast track visas – says no one is in danger.
