Joke of the week. Sweden to ban religious schools.

Hey, Sweden. I have an idea. Why not ban Muslims? This policy wouldn’t be in reaction to growing numbers of Islamic education institutions, would it? If so, too late. Your liberalism has signed your death warrant.

I watched an interesting ‘verbal exchange’ on TV1 ‘Marae’ this a.m. ; Willie Jackson v David Seymour/JL Ross on ‘Charter Schools’. Seymour said Jackson had back-flipped on support for charter schools since getting into Govt. (with Lab). to which Jackson replied (paraphrased); His version of charter schools was about giving a difference of education agenda; Military, performing arts, Maori/Pacific focus etc. from the general ‘mainstream’ BUT still would require that the basic curriculum be taught by qualified teachers.. whereas Natl’s plan was ALL about ‘Privatisation’; cutting costs, unqualified teachers & maximising profits for ‘the board’ & shareholders… Business as usual

It was a good answer & showed that there IS a difference in their agendas, which Natl have constantly denied.

btw; Hipkins (Lab. minister) said they are willing to consider allowing existing charter schools to stay open, as long as they meet these basic rules.. again Natl have gone down the FEAR-mongering route.. they are all going to be closed by this Govt. !!
“they know the cost of everything.. but the VALUE of nothing…”
