Jones and Peters are speaking out in defence of the oil industry, apparently there is some detail in the top secret coalition agreement that states that. I hope Ardern hasnt lifted expectations too high with her stunt, which worked, on receiving the petition.

She is looking very frumpy and unprofessional these days. If she wants to be taken seriously as PM, she needs to look the part. Her appearance when she accepted the petition in what looked like a shabby dress that had shrunk in the wash until it was above her knees, bare legs and ankle boots was not that of the leader of a country.

Imagine a male PM appearing in the equivalent clothes…

            • I saw Winston on the news tonight – it looks like the hard life of a Minister, especially the travel programme of Minister of Foreign Affairs, is having taking it’s toll already.

Yes, but he didn’t [erform official duties as PM dressed like this, nor did he look shabby and unkempt.

It must be a very confusing time for you lately with the Commie RNZ constantly promoting Jordan Peterson. This should help, it’s the latest of a multitude of critiques of ‘Pavlov’s Lobster‘. (Nice one PZ!)

Reactionary white men will surely be thrilled by Peterson’s loathing for “social justice warriors” and his claim that divorce laws should not have been liberalized in the 1960s. Those embattled against political correctness on university campuses will heartily endorse Peterson’s claim that “there are whole disciplines in universities forthrightly hostile towards men.” Islamophobes will take heart from his speculation that “feminists avoid criticizing Islam because they unconsciously long for masculine dominance.” Libertarians will cheer Peterson’s glorification of the individual striver, and his stern message to the left-behinds (“Maybe it’s not the world that’s at fault. Maybe it’s you. You’ve failed to make the mark.”). The demagogues of our age don’t read much; but, as they ruthlessly crack down on refugees and immigrants, they can derive much philosophical backup from Peterson’s sub-chapter headings: “Compassion as a vice” and “Toughen up, you weasel.”

Pretty much overdosed on Peterson now. Used to think he had a few good points to make but now starting to strike me as a bit too fond of his own voice, a purveyor of straw men arguments & frankly a bit of a whiner.

Lorde pays the price for youthful ignorance. The question is, as her novelty appeal starts to wane and her mediocre talent comes to the fore, will she have enough gas to resurrect her career?

While I’m a critic of hers, I wish her all the best. She has done tremendous things and climbed to the top. She may have to do the Dixie Chicks thing and ride it out.

As people know i don’t like the right wing Larry Williams and his droning voice on newstalkZB droning on how Labour is stopping ULT RICH yanks buying New Zealand up. As we all know these ALT RICH don’t bring any benefits to New Zealand, but when has that ever stopped the right wing hosts telling half truths to the uneducated rightwingers who listen to them, again tonight Larry told a porky but is it worth complaining to the BSA…Kauri Cliffs,USA-nz

I see that S Brown’s (Natl) mbrs bill has passed 1st reading, with support of NZF; Psychoactive Substances (penalty increase supply/dist) amendment.
Effectively bringing it into line with Class C (nat. cannabis). It was interesting to hear:

    1) in 2013 Dunne introduced this law, which saw them legalised until a public outcry
    2) instead of just moving these synthetics to MODA 1975, they amended Dunne’s bill which only has 2 years jail. This new bill will bring it to 8 years, same as MODA
    3) the current Psycho. Subst. bill has a 5 year review clause, which falls this year, which could see this bill become redundant. Labour say they are doing a total review of these issues, this year also

BUT the ‘Elephant in the room’ : Why not just regulate natural Cannabis (aka M-J) & stop this nonsensical B-S with synthetics DEAD ?
There have been 20 deaths, attributed to this synthetic CRAP in NZ in 2017, but still zero from the natural stuff.
Regardless of all the misinfo. there are not the same or just as ‘harmful’ as each other !!
