Seems a pretty good summary of recent fun and games by the new govt Lurch, even has the Jacinda-loving Soper putting the boot in. If you have alternative facts regarding this disaster of a govt please table them.

When the host of a nearby rightwing national party blog puts a post by Mrs Hosking up as a serious debate you can tell desperation is rearing its head…”.no matter what they post Jacinda Ardern our PM is still running the country”

How Genetics Is Changing Our Understanding of ‘Race’
I have deep sympathy for the concern that genetic discoveries could be misused to justify racism. But as a geneticist I also know that it is simply no longer possible to ignore average genetic differences among “races.”
    //
But whether we like it or not, that line has already been crossed. A recent study led by the economist Daniel Benjamin compiled information on the number of years of education from more than 400,000 people, almost all of whom were of European ancestry. After controlling for differences in socioeconomic background, he and his colleagues identified 74 genetic variations that are over-represented in genes known to be important in neurological development, each of which is incontrovertibly more common in Europeans with more years of education than in Europeans with fewer years of education

So the KKK may be right. It’s just they’re too dumb to know they are right And SJWs are
wrong…it’s just they are too dumb to know they are wrong. Er, it’s getting a little confusing.

A little like that Maori electoral roll advert on TV at the moment. It helps brainless Maori who apparently don’t know they have a choice between the Maori roll and the General roll.
Of course the advert sublimely speaks to the primordial brain of the targeted audience and suggests to them: ‘Bro, Maori should be on the Maori roll.” The ethereal Tibetan sand mandalas, adjusted for Maori themes reinforces that message.

      • Patzcuaro

         /  March 31, 2018

@Corky it is all about freedom, freedom to choose which roll to be on. Luckily we live in a country where you are able to make that choice.

        • Corky

           /  March 31, 2018

Oh, is that right? So could Gezza go on the Maori roll? What about Pete?

          • Gezza

             /  March 31, 2018

Absolutely I could if I was Maori. If I chose to.

            • Corky

               /  March 31, 2018

But you aren’t Maori. I have a choice..you don’t. Constitutionally, I am superior to you. Although it could be argued it comes down to one vote, one person, regardless of what roll you are on, that in my opinion is semantics. We only have to extrapolate this choice out into other arena’s to see the intrinsic unfairness of this racist right

            • Gezza

               /  March 31, 2018

How do you conclude that your (claim to) having a choice of which Roll to be on means you are “constitutionally “superior” to me in having only one Roll eligibility?

What extra “right” (beyond a simple choice of Roll) does someone on the Maori Roll have that someone on the General Roll doesn’t?

            • Corky

               /  March 31, 2018

”What extra “right” (beyond a simple choice of Roll) does someone on the Maori Roll have that someone on the General Roll doesn’t?”

A choice between two options. Yet you as a fellow citizen because of race are limited in your choices. There is nothing ‘simple’ about that situation. It is, and has been, a forerunner to other advantages Maori have that Europeans don’t.

            • Gezza

               /  March 31, 2018

I get a right to two votes in the hope of electing two MPs.
One, a candidate vote for an electorate MP. The other a party vote for a party MP.

So does someone with a choice of which Electoral Roll to be on.

That people of Maori ancestry can choose on which Roll they want to exercise those votes is such a minor matter it doesn’t bother me, and I don’t think it bothers most people.

I don’t blame the pilots for ‘getting upset’. Nobody wants to die in a plane crash. It’s sheer luck that everyone in that plane wasn’t killed when it was hit by one.

It seems impossible that all that drama happened in Salisbury. It’s such a lovely place and the cathedral is my favourite one of all those that I’ve seen. As I have said with Brexit and Trump saying Nato would have to stop relying on the U.S military and funding…a power vacuum could result in Russia becoming dominant as the European power. This charade is designed to solidify the bulwark to Russian influence by uniting Europe against this common, nasty…foe.

No, I haven’t turned my mind to it to any great degree though, because I don’t know what the evidence for the Brits and the NATO countries actually is.

At a general level if your theory was correct the suspects could be a very small number of people in a tight-knit group acting alone or with others in either the intelligence, security, or political arenas, in the UK, NATO, the EU or any country, including the US, who might see an opportunity to kneecap Russia.

It could be a broad, or a narrow consipiracy. It could involve all 3 of those branches or only one or two.

One thing that is clear is that your hypothesis IS a conspiracy theory. So if I had come to some very clear conclusions on the questions I asked, myself, I wouldn’t be worried about being accused of being a conspiracy theorist.

I’ve obviously not been using Trade Me near often enuf. I need a memory stick for a compact camera I want to try for me wildlife films, hoping for slightly better close-ups. Most the usual outlets are out of stock. And their prices range from $34 to $68 for the exact same item. Plus shipping.

Ordered one for $15 of Trade Me instead, yesterday. With shipping – total $19.50.

Corks, what are you having to pay for shipping for your stuff ordered online from overseas?
