    Creating_effective_Anti-Racism_Campaigns
    http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.1032.1777&rep=rep1&type=pdf

This section explains how European theories about ‘race’ impact on popular ideas about
ethnic difference. This knowledge is important for the development of anti-racism messages.

What we learn from thinking about ‘race’
Remnants of old, disproved, Western ideas about ‘race’ are part of ordinary Pākehā talk
about Māori and other minority ethnic groups.
This includes the idea that –
    • ‘Races’ are biologically distinct
[populations can be – evolution can proceed rapidly when populations live in challenging conditions]
    • Behaviour and culture can be transmitted biologically
[This is old thinking that we are born with a blank slate – Evolutionary Psychology is on a roll]

    • Pākehā culture is superior to indigenous and minority cultures
[Pakeha were once living in the stone age also (5000 years ago)]

    • Darker-skinned people are closer to apes than White people.
    [You said that, not me?]

The media’s use of the word ‘race’ and the justice system’s use of ‘Caucasian’ evoke these
    discredited theories about race.
The division between the West, including New Zealand, and the ‘developing’ world is an
    example of cultural racism.

The U.S. has put together a STRONG bid w/ Canada & Mexico for the 2026 World Cup. It would be a shame if countries that we always support were to lobby against the U.S. bid. Why should we be supporting these countries when they don’t support us (including at the United Nations)?

According to the latest 1 NEWS Colmar Bruton poll, most people don’t think becoming a mum will have an effect on Jacinda Ardern’s performance as Prime Minister.

    The question asked was:

How do you think becoming a parent will affect Jacinda Ardern’s performance as Prime Minister?

Gossipers & regular fans no doubt will be pleased to note:

I would have voted ‘No difference’ (couldn’t possibly be any worse than she has been) or ‘Better’ (the period directly after the birth when Winston takes over until she come backs into the job).

I haven’t seen them do that, personally. The ones up your way must be quite well-educated. Mine can fly, I’ve seen them do that. They’re not much into gossip about you know who. What about the ones up your way? 😳

Need to be careful when driving as without fail they always want to cross the road just in front of you?….strange that.

Stay in the stream, I tell mine. Listen to your granddad. You got it good here. Stay off the road. Don’t go up the driveway. So far so good. They won’t go past my front trellis. Mind you, round here everybody pulls up & lets the ducks and ducklings and pooklets cross the road anyway.

And if you ever have to take the top of a chrome Methven Centique kitchen Mixer Tap to change the cartridge because the tap’s leaking from the top and when you get the grub screw out and go to lift the tap top off & it doesn’t just lift right off like it’s supposed to because the plasticky lug thingy on the old cartridge is now so completely cemented into the socket by feckin calcium deposits a bulldozer couldn’t pull it out & so you try to lever it out and it bloody snaps off & the plumbing supplies shop is useless for ideas – well you can drill the stuck bit out & that should work ok it did here. And if you wondered whether soaking the chrome tap top in white vinegar for a few hours will dissolve all the calcium concretions inside the tap top, well it does.
