Does anyone know what is happening (or not happening) at Parliament TV?

‘On demand’ videos are stuck back on 12 April.

Technical cock up I expect. Up to date videos are up on YouTube. Maybe email the Speaker?

        Thanks Gezza.

I followed your advice and lo and behold on-demand videos are back.

Let’s hear it for Speaker power.

I see in the news, that parents & ‘officials’ are up in arms, because a school gave out a booklet *from NZ Drug Fdtn’ talking about ‘SAFE meth use’.
It has been widely stated that zero-tolerance does not work & EDUCATION & ‘decrim’ is the better option, but as soon as they move to this alternative options.. Shock, Horror, Hysteria reigns: ‘WE CANT SAY THIS.. it sends the wrong message !!”
so what is the right message ? We prefer Zero-tolerance, after all ?

The other issue I often hear, is that Meth/P & Synthetics are now much more available (& getting cheaper) on the streets of NZ, because Police still seem to have CANNABIS as their main target. (creating a ‘drought’) Maybe they need to be reminded; Cannabis is a ‘Class C’ drug & Meth/P is ‘Class A’.. why are they making more effort to stamp out the ‘less harmful one’ ? Obviously.. OLD Habits die hard, but they are actually CREATING more harm with this outdated narrow-minded view ! 😦

OR is this all part of some twisted view to maintain Status Quo only.. keeps Cops, judges, lawyers. prisons & Gangs in ‘gainful employment’.. whilst most of the rest of OECD actually do move on & ‘reduce HARM’

    • Cannabis in NOT a main target, not at all. Where did you hear that.

So why are they spending $millions & working with the RNZAF (helicopters) to try & wipe out the whole annual crop ?

          @trav

          from a press release:

‘The proportion of frequent drug users who reported methamphetamine was
“easier” to obtain increased from 19 per cent in 2015 to 44 per cent in
2016. The average price of a gram of methamphetamine declined in
Auckland from $579 in 2015 to $485 in 2016, and in Christchurch from
          $1002 in 2015 to $746 in 2016.’

‘The proportion of frequent drug users who could purchase cannabis in one
hour or less has declined from 82 per cent in 2014 to 54 per cent in 2016.’

I dont think this is really because the increase in Meth/P has driven users to change.. more the second point; Cannabis IS getting much harder to get !

Just because the cops say they are using discretion with cannabis; this is actually misinfo. They may not be busting as many users, but they are moving to total annihiliation of the plantations.. meanwhile Meth/P is flooding in & synthetics are also more available. Ever since Dunne ‘regulated’ synthetics, (for a while) there does seem to be a misconception, that they are less harmful, even though news reports say people are dying from them.. number of deaths from natural herb: ZERO

As Ive said ‘All talk but NO action to reduce drug harm’ just keep wiping out the weed.. that keeps ALL the ‘officials’ happy !

I see in news; a doctor has come out & stated that his previous comment ‘Mr T is the healthiest person EVER to become POTUS’ was actually written by Mr T & he also said ‘Its True.. Mr T takes a drug to regrow HAIR !’ & maintain his public IMAGE… LOL 😀

NZH-‘My favourite rumour about me was when my marriage fell apart almost a couple of decades back. The rumour was I was gay, and I was running off with a well-known male real estate agent.’…Hosking comes..clean.

Oh yes I saw that this morning. Mike says it’s all a disaster for Jacinda and she shouldn’t have orchestrated all this police stuff etc. But I thought the situation isn’t really directly comparable. To be comparable he would need to be the PM and rumours would need to be rapidly being spread that his wife was being investigated by the police for something horribly illegal.
