    Aljazeera midnight tv news

Kushner has opened the US Embassy in Jerusalem, with a televised, believably ignorant rah rah speech from Trump talking bs about how this will help bring peace. Netanyahu has also given a speech saying Jerusalem is the “undivided capital” of Israel, further inflaming the situation, as invaded & occupied East Jerusalem has always been the declared intended capital of a Palestinian State.

The embassy in West Jerusalem’s compound actually straddles occupied East Jerusalem from which many Palestinians have been forced out. And in recent days the Israeli parliament has introduced a number of measures intended to cement the illegal occupation & settlement of East Jerusalem into more permanence.

In typical Trump & Netanyahu gratuitously offensive style, the Embassy has been opened on the eve of Al Nakba – remembered by all Palestinians every year as the day hundreds of Palestinians were murdered or forced out of their villages & land following the declaration of the State of Israel.

And, as expected, IDF snipers, in just this one day, have already murdered 43, & injured 2,000, unarmed Palestinians protesting at the Gaza/Israel border – a massacre which has been going on for several weeks now & is being ignored by the US & most European media. (Apparently many European leaders invited to attend the opening of the Embassy have stayed away, though.)

A claim was made by a commentator was that 70% of the Palestinians protesting at the border were descendants of those who were forced into Gaza from tbeir land in what Israel now claims. The Palestinians in Gaza under the Israeli blockade have cripplingly severe water restrictions – amounting to chronic drought, very little electricity – a few hours a day, often none, no building materials, food shortages, no jobs.

The Palestinian protest at the border is to demonstrate that they want to go home, to their land. The Israeli Army is in full overdrive pushing out propaganda videos making out that the protest is a major threat to Israel’s security (it’s not) with Orwellian-style voiceovers saying “What if Hamas is planning a massacre??” to win support for the real massacre they are actually carrying out. Saw some of one. It would probably fool yanks, it wouldn’t fool any Kiwis with a few clues.

Worth noting that not a single Israeli has been killed during these protests.

  2. Gorka is a Trump sycophant.

The embassy move is an achievement, it has just been opened, but whether it advances peace in the Middle East is highly debatable.

Iran and North Korea works in progress and it’s far to soon to tell how successful they will be – they could as easily turn out to be disastrous.

And while Trump and friends have long tried to trash the Mueller investigation it’s outcome is still in a lot of doubt.

A lot of counting chickens before they have got any feathers.

True, there is counting chickens before they hatch….but its not for want of President Trumpy trying. He told us what he’d do, and he’s doing his best to accomplish that. How people can mention Obama in the same breath as Trump is beyond me.

One result: Unemployment at an 18 year low.

The savour for liberals is something Trump does is bound to backfire. The question is, will voters care?

“On average, doctors whose opioid prescription volume ranked among the top 5 percent nationally received twice as much money from the opioid manufacturers, compared with doctors whose prescription volume was in the median. Doctors in the top 1 percent of opioid prescribers received on average four times as much money as the typical doctor. Doctors in the top 10th of 1 percent, on average, received nine times more money than the typical doctor.”

The most common drugs involved in prescription opioid overdose deaths are methadone, oxycodone (such as OxyContin®) and hydrocodone (such as Vicodin®),8 and evidence suggests opioid makers such as Purdue Pharma, owned by the Sackler family, knew exactly what they were doing when they claimed opioids — which are chemically very similar to heroin — have an exceptionally low addiction rate when taken by people with pain.

fentanyl prescriptions, specifically, were associated with the highest payments, and many of the states struggling with the highest rates of overdose deaths, such as Indiana, Ohio and New Jersey, also had the most opioid-related payments to physicians. In other words, this study showed there’s a direct link between doctors’ payments and patient addiction rates and deaths.

CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta recently published an open letter to U.S. attorney general Jeff Sessions, in which he urges Sessions to change his stance on cannabis, saying “Not only can cannabis work for a variety of conditions such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and pain, sometimes, it is the only thing that works … It is time for safe and regulated medical marijuana to be made available nationally.”

Gupta cites research from the Rand Corporation, which found a 20 percent decline in opioid overdose deaths in states that had legalized medical marijuana. “[T]hese data suggest that medicinal marijuana could save up to 10,000 lives every year,” he writes. Not only could cannabis treat the pain itself, lowering or eliminating the need for narcotics, but it can also ease symptoms associated with opioid withdrawal. There’s also no risk of overdose or death using cannabis.

Don’t start Kitty off, PG. You know what she gets like with this poor, very common woman. 😉

  5. There will be less here, outside of the celebrity whores in the media.

I wouldn’t be too surprised if Kitty was glued to the tv, making detailed notes of all egregious errors of style & form.
