      Gee didn’t the Israelis consider that the inflammatory US decision to open its new symbolic Embassy, to be built during the next six years, wasnt going to goad Hamas?

        These were long planned protests for Nakba. The embassy was not the catalyst.

          FFS – don’t be dense HFD. It magnified the insult and the threat that Bibi & his Zionist cohort would pronounce Jerusalem indivisible. 70 years was going to be marked by protests yes, without doubt, but the IDF set it up as provocation. They murdered them.

        Why should not goading Hamas be an objective? Didn’t work for Chamberlain.

            Sense isn’t addressed to you, B, since it would only upset your nonsense. However you could try answering my question if you can without diving sideways into your usual duckpond.

        “wasnt going to goad Hamas?”

        Perhaps knowingly sending your own people to a slaughter isn’t a good long term plan for Hamas. Or, perhaps, Israel could simply cease to exist as it’s very existence seems to goad Hamas as well.

        The protesters were not as innocent as made out. Nothing more, nothing less.

        The same point Hamas make in their founding charter;

        “There is no negotiated settlement possible. Jihad is the only answer.”

    An Italian populist government looks likely, and risky
    A coalition of the Northern League and the Five Star Movement could send the country off the rails
    Small wonder that signs of disquiet are emerging in Brussels. The vice-president of the European Commission, Jyrki Katainen, warned that Italy will get no exemptions from the euro zone’s fiscal rules. His colleague, Dimitris Avramopoulos, hoped that the government would not change Italy’s stance on migration. Mr Di Maio and Mr Salvini reacted indignantly.

      Another factor is the expectation that EU rules and fear of upsetting markets will deter radical change. Analysts at Unicredit, a bank, point to Portugal and Greece, where populist governments toned down their policies when faced with reality. But Italy’s new government may be an exception. The League resembles other populist-nationalist parties such as France’s National Front. The M5S is a very different creature, launched in 2009 with a mission of introducing direct democracy through online voting. As it has snowballed, it has gathered a heterogeneous mix of policies and activists from left and right alike.

    Far more plausible reason for sea levels rising than that silly climate change “theory”!

      I think if they look closely they’ll find the where the rocks are, and it won’t be in the sea…
