    Another one 😥

At least eight fatalities, suspect arrested after shooting at Texas high school
At least one gunman opened fire at a Houston-area high school on Friday (Saturday NZ Time), killing eight to 10 people, most of them students, authorities said, in the nation’s deadliest such attack since the massacre in Florida that gave rise to a campaign by teens for gun control.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said he could not be precise about the number of deaths at Santa Fe High School, which went on lockdown around 8am local time (1am Saturday NZT). One person was in custody, and a second person had been detained, he said.

An unknown number of possible explosive devices were found at the school and off campus. Authorities were in the process of rendering them safe and asked the public to call 911 if they see anything suspicious.

  2. South Sudanese buy up of Australian properties.

“Inside the lavish, sprawling estate at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in Narre Warren, southeast of Melbourne, Ngouth Oth Mai and his family lived the good life.

The A$1.5 million ($1.64m) mansion, fully paid up, featured an infinity pool, a sauna, a cinema, a five-car garage, a pool table, massive bedrooms and sparkling bathrooms.

But how did a 22-year-old from housing commission flats on a humanitarian visa and Centrelink handouts pay for it all?

That’s the question at the centre of an Australian Federal Police investigation that Oth Mai will be asked to answer in court in July.”
