Lurchy, Lurchy. You are so naive. If it’s a case of National winning the election with Judith, or losing without Judith, you can bet National MPs’ will fall in love with Crusher.

And one other thing…she’ll take your energy payments off you as a punishment for being one of those people who doesn’t follow the ”Righteous” way.

Goody Two-Shoes has nothing at all to do with being a goody-goody.

It’s the name of an 18th century children’s book, and ‘Goody’ was just a name like Mrs, It was used in an affectionate way of the book’s heroine, as we might call a child ‘little Miss (name)’ and has nothing to do with goodness as such.

Being a goody-goody has no connection with the old usage of Goody which is probably a corruption of ‘goodwife’ (in the original sense of wife meaning any woman) and used to refer to working class women.

Goody-goody means smug and making a parade of being virtuous.

Not to anyone with any sort of knowledge of English or English literature. Some people use disinterested as a synonym for uninterested, but that doesn’t make it right, Nor does the fact that people use ‘discrete’ to mean ‘discreet’ make this right.

‘Goody goody two shoes’ is the ignoramus’s usage, of course, used by people who don’t know the origin of the name or the derivation of the word ‘goody’. That was what I was talking about.

I’m reasonably confident betting that it still would have, given that Jude knows when and how to deliver a punch to an opponent’s kidneys (metaphorically speaking).

I knew I should have bookmarked that interview. I know most of what you have posted. ( and something new I needed to confirm.)

However, the fact remains a NASA scientist stated the above. He should have been unequivocal in his response both to the radiation question and the second part of his answer when he said NASA didn’t have any of the Apollo data to reuse for the Mars mission.

That’s the basis for me sitting on the fence regarding the moon landing. Find me that interview and we can pick up the debate.

All I remember was it was held at ( or associated with) Lawerence Livermore Laboratories, and the NASA guy was part of a three man science group being interviewed..

Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Not really an issue that engages my attention much beyond that Corky. I have no doubt the Apollo astronauts got to the moon and back despite the VABs. Possibly they may present more of a challenge with some suggested Mars mission profiles for some reason, but I doubt they will prevent a mission or kill the Marsnauts.

               /  May 26, 2018

Well, that interview haunts me. To be truthful, if it was confirmed man didn’t land on the moon I would be devastated. I believe our future is in space..and it may provide plan B for later generations should the earth become unsustainable. If there has been no moon landing, there definitely wont be any plan B.

            • Gezza

               /  May 26, 2018

Well, can you post a link to, say, your best source(s) of “proof” they didn’t land on the moon and safely return; that it was all just a hoax, and then links to the best source(s) you’ve read debunking those ones?

If you then can tell me where theose debunkers are wrong, could be an interesting discussion.

Just on that point, I believe if humanity doesn’t get wiped out at their own or some random cosmic cause someone will discover how to do fast interstellar travel. But if our descendants don’t get to leave and colonise other places in space it won’t matter a damn in the overall scheme of the cosmos and would probably even be a good thing. Looked at purely objectively we’re a pain in the arse to any planet we do inhabit.

corky I think I can relieve you of this burden. If you care to step outside your tiny reality bubble you will discover the moon landing skeptic society has been dissolved

Indeed you may be agreeably surprised to find NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) has captured the sharpest images ever taken from space of the Apollo 12, 14 and 17 landing sites. Of course you are free to claim the LRO is a figment and the images are fake. Good luck with that…

At the Apollo 17 site, the tracks laid down by the lunar rover are clearly visible, along with the last foot trails left on the moon. The images also show where the astronauts placed some of the scientific instruments that provided the first insight into the moon’s environment and interior

On a related note I was privileged to hear the first man speak on his experience in Nashville 2007 on one of his rare pubic appearances. A very humble man he diverted from the hype and said he was just a technician hired to install a mirror on the moon. No cameras they said. I couldn’t help myself..

               /  May 26, 2018

You obviously can’t read. My sitting on the fence was, as I stated, predicated on one interview, as I outlined above. I also have no problem being proven wrong, also stated above.

When it comes to anything governmental I have a very jaundiced view. We find out years later the real truth. That’s why governments put time locks on certain information. That allows everyone involved to die off without consequence. Peril Harbour is an example.

Nothing wrong with it I suppose – it needn’t be a gender specific thing – I once pulled the curtains & gave it a try when I was about 16 but I only lasted about 6 minutes because my maths wasn’t up to it.
