I Still remember Mike Sabin Company called MethCon he was in the know it seems.
Sold it on to become MP for Northland.
I would think Particleboard unsealed would be more toxic to little lungs.
Some agricultural chemical sprays are much more toxic … so I hear from P.A.N.

I suspected if the origin of the policy was investigated cops would be found at the base of it.

The problem is that cops are notoriously vulnerable to noble cause corruption. The ends justify any means and certainly a cavalier attitude to science and actual facts is one of them.

It was the cops who put the ‘hold your horses’ message out, about about Chloe’s med-use bill.. saying things like ‘if you allow sick people to grow it.. it will open the door to legalisation’.. now we have a ‘piss weak bill’ NOT fit for purpose.

I await their ‘hysteria/fear-mongering’ strategies in the lead up to the ‘reeferendum’ on allowing rec-use. Echoes of Anslinger.. no doubt (more Reefer Madness to come ?!) 😦

SO… just to be clear.. it seems that current NZ Drug policy is no longer aimed at Harm Minimisation, but is rather about: JOB-Protection for those who benefit from it ?! 😦

There are a staunch mob out here, (cops etc.) who are obviously benefiting from continuing the status quo (Drug policy) & rampant hysteria/FEAR-mongering is at the heart of it !

‘Lets not; let the truth, get in the way of a good story’
The most harmful Drug, by far, is tobacco (>5000 deaths/yr) do they go around ‘drug testing’ houses where tobacco smokers have lived, scrubbing them out & replacing carpets & even internal wall linings.. ‘Dont be silly.. most kiwis dont even think its a drug’. As soon as Meth/P is mentioned, its all ‘actions stations.. bring out the big guns/contamination suits & seal off the area’ hysteria. As if a major epidemic has broken out !!

I am not for one second, saying Meth/P is harmless, but we need to have a rational perspective on it (& all drugs).
There are still reports that cannabis ’causes insanity’ & leads most users onto ‘HARD drugs’ (widely discredited in other countries) but still often heard in NZ.. to cast doubt on any reform options etc. etc.
Whose responsible.. follow the money (>$100mil ? spent so far, on it)

Where would our economy be Zedd, without a lot of these manufactured, regulation-based, public-private-partnership industries, ‘Crime & Punishment’ being an excellent example …?

Imagine the instant public service unemployment if, overnight, there was a simple, straightforward welfare system … or a simple flat or even progressive taxation system comprehensible to the average person …?

The modern-day austere-welfare-neoliberal economy relies very heavily on public sector employment for its seeming legitimacy … despite constant pretense otherwise.

I hear you PZ.. but I actually believe ‘Drug Prohibition’ (gangs, corruption etc.& the cost of criminalising US) is causing more HARM than the regulated use of cannabis/other drugs.. by adults.

So I will continue to bring it up (esp. if its a YNZ topic).. until Im told to ‘get out of here’ or the law changes.. 2020 ??? 🙂 😀

Roseanne crashes and burns on Twitter – show cancelled.
What is it with Twitter that so many feel the need to vent in self-destructive dialogue?

A lot of people scream “racism!” over very tenuous statements and comments. This is not one of those times.
Bizarre tweet and a terrible apology.

At least you can say the Roseanne reboot lasted longer than most members of the trump administration.

I’m not sure what the use of a Government appointed peer review person is when lots of other credible scientific institutions have been around for years.
