Ex soldier’s take on Gaza in Stuff:

“I am not a pacifist,” Gvaryahu says. “I believe in a right to self-determination for Israel and I believe in Israel’s right to self-defence but I don’t think what is happening in Gaza is self-defence. I think it is occupation defence.”

“This is basically a prolonged military occupation,” he says.

“Yes, there are borders to defend but the vast majority of the friction and the combat is in the West Bank. The military does semi-police work there but with limitless power. We are controlling people who do not want to be controlled by us.”

Looks like trump’s noxious ‘spygate’ conspiracy theory has died in the ditch it was born in.

Trey Gowdy has rubbished trump’s claims out of hand:
I am even more convinced that the FBI did exactly what my fellow citizens would want them to do when they got the information they got,
    and again yesterday
When the FBI comes into contact with information about what a foreign government may be doing in our election cycle, I think they have an obligation to run it out.

Fox News’ legal beagle Judge Napolitano has cut trump off at the knees, saying trump’s con-artist claim seems to be “baseless” and that the use of an informant on the periphery of the campaign is “standard operating procedure” in the FBI’s counterintelligence operations.
If they were there for some nefarious reason … to gather data from the campaign and pass it to the West Wing and pass it to Mrs. Clinton, I’d want to see evidence of that before I made an allegation that outrageous.”

And trump’s attack dog, Alan Dershowitz, has joined in, conceding that he was “on the way to being persuaded” that the FBI’s use of an informant was proper.

The Republicans who attended last week’s briefing have all gone to ground. Not a word from Jordan, Gaetz, Ryan, McConnell, Warner, and Nunes have all crept back under their rocks

Even his own lawyer Rudy Giuliani admitted, this whole “scandal” was a ploy to sway public opinion and deflate the possibility of impeachment.

This smacks of Dershowitz and the old ‘OJ defense’. If you can’t refute the evidence then demonize law enforcement with crippling lies and toxic distortions. But trump’s gone to the well too many times with that ploy. People aren’t buying it anymore.

Mueller’s case evaporates as the electorate tires of him:

        From the article:
Of course, everything depends on the results of the Mueller investigation; if he reveals some new blockbuster evidence, that could change everything.

Rudy I reckon will last a year before his screw ups catch up with him.

Weren’t you one of those who thought Trump wouldn’t last a year?

No I don’t think I ever thought he’d last less than a year (if I did it would’ve been in jest). But whatever, I think he’ll do the full term. He doesn’t really have any opposition. If the Dems had someone who could match him he might have a race on his hands, but that’s not looking likely. I just think he’s a prick of a person, Al. Will be interesting to see what the place looks like at the end of his reign when Kim Kardashian becomes the next POTUS.

More likely to be Kanye, but it’s hard to forecast 6 years ahead.

Ellen DeGeneres possibly. it’ll have to be a female next time, just so normal women can get even with Trump. I don’t think Oprah will run.

Laurence Tribe’s back on his soapbox – with good reason. D’Souza intentionally broke the law, voluntarily pled guilty, apologized for his conduct & the judge found no unfairness.

Way to go, Joe. Label all your political defeats “Obstruction of Justice”. I’m guessing there will be plenty more and you’ll feel a bit better as you carry on losing.

Roseanne Barr seems to be losing it complelely.

I can’t agree with the person who said that she’s a comedienne and that offending people is part of a comedian’s job (or words to that effect) These offensive comments were made when she was off duty, so to speak, were not funny and there seem to have been many of them made.

I liked the pharmaco saying that racism was not a side effect of the medication that she blamed it on.
