/ 12th June 2018Now why did people think Trump couldnt do a deal, heel Bloggs/Blazer was on here pontificating that nuclear war was about to start, bet he feels bloody stupid now. Just me and Alan with the brains and insight to see that Trump is a great deal maker.
Pete George
/ 12th June 2018It could be a very good deal for North Korea and South Korea, they have a lot more to gain from this than the US.
Alan Wilkinson
/ 12th June 2018I disagree. The US will gain strategically and economically. China may benefit financially but loses strategically. Russia is left in the cold. Japan will be greatly relieved. NK people stand to benefit the most and SK people will have emotional rewards.
Kitty Catkin
/ 12th June 2018I wonder how much is Trump on his own. I would hope that one person would not be able to do these things with no comeback or advice.
Joe Bloggs
/ 13th June 2018comments from Lindsay Graham overrnight suggest that the GOP doesn’t trust trump and wants to review any agreement he makes before ratifying it:
Alan Wilkinson
/ 13th June 2018If you think Lindsay Graham speaks for the GOP you are seriously deluded.
Pete George
/ 12th June 2018I think it’s a lot more complex than that, and a lot of unknowns at this stage. But generally positive at this stage.
No one benefited from Kim-Trump bickering and threatening.
Alan Wilkinson
/ 12th June 2018They did if it led to a good deal which wouldn’t have happened otherwise.
Blazer
/ 12th June 2018so whats the deal?Thats right…there isn’t one.
sorethumb
/ 12th June 2018I didn’t realise how big Samsung is (they built the world’s tallest building etc). Then you think: “North Korea”. Maybe North Korea is tired of being North Korea (a road to nowhere)?
Gezza
/ 12th June 2018Kim IS tired of NK being a road to nowhere. He was educated in Switzerland. He’s not a reclusive hermit like his two predecessors. He’s also no fool.
Blazer
/ 12th June 2018I bet you can not find any post where I suggested nuclear war was about to start you liar.I generally avoid Trump threads ,back here in the motherland is what interests..me.
Joe Bloggs
/ 13th June 2018Full of bullshit as usual David.
It turns out that the so-called “historic” document is nothing new. They agreed that there should be peace and that they will look for human remains of soldiers lost during the Korean war. The only relevant item was that the North Koreans reaffirmed an agreement with South Korea from April that “commits” to “work toward” denuclearization in the Korean Peninsula.
This is actually a step backwards from earlier agreements such as the one reached in the six-party talks in 2005 in which the North Koreans actually agreed to give up “all nuclear weapons and existing nuclear programs” and then didn’t do it.
When all’s said and done Kim has merely ratified the document he signed with Moon in April and trump’s just there for the photo op.
Pete George
/ 12th June 2018China would be happy with that. Not sure about Japan.
Pete George
/ 12th June 2018It’s certainly not comprehensive as Trump claimed.
