Better swap your fluffy white bread for some heavy multigrain, B. Before you damage your ceiling.

Mine does that, too, and the toast often disappears down the back of the microwave . I tend to hold my hand over the bread and press the button when it’s nearly ready. It can always go back for a few seconds. Mine is quite a cheap one from the supermarket, not a well-known brand.

Needed; a barrier to stop flying toast that shoots out of the toaster like a bullet out of a gun.

What brand is yours, Blazer ?

Mine only does it intermittently. And it just pops it out onto the ktichen benchtop. Mine’s a 2-slice Cascade from the Warehouse. I bought it after getting fed up with a new Zip and then a new Breville both toasting the bread horribly unevenly. The Cascade was cheap but does the job properly.

The weight of the bread is possibly a factor but it’s pretty rare that it pops it right out of the toaster.

Bring back the old ones with the flapdown doors.

              Cascade; thanks for that.

I have heard that toast made on a toasting fork is much nicer than toast done in a toaster. It’s not as easy to do as it sounds, though.

My grandmother had one of those flapdowns. Lasted 40 years until the salt air of Mt Maunganui ate the doors away. The toaster still went, but was useless without the doors.

I can’t quite see the point of having a person watching & controlling a self-driving car. Why not just drive the damned car in the first place ?
