Gezza: Thanks so much for sharing “Deep Dark Hole”. I’ve only had time to listen to it once, but it continues to echo in my mind. I found it ‘atmospheric’, haunting and deeply moving in all the right ways. I’d just come from a discussion around suicide and suicidality when I played it…

It’s a dismal day here. I have been racking up Brownie and Greenie points by sorting out donations for the opshop and removing the bubblewrap from inside a lot of padded envelopes that had been sitting in the cupboard and are no longer needed. This was put aside for an opshop, any recyclable remains are off to the soft plastic bin to be made into furniture or the paper bin…a small amount has had to go to landfill, but a very small amount. I feel very green and good 🙂 A sizeable bag of bubblewrap resulted from my work.

As the plastic that China has said ‘No more !’ to will go to landfill (as much plastic has had to, anyway) I wonder if it could be ‘minced’ to make it take up less space. I always cut it small if it’s not recyclable so that it takes up much less space in the bag.

A man in Ngaruawahia built a house from tyres, but I never hear this being suggested as a solution to the tyre mountains.

        Well done you. 👍🏼

Been an odd day here weatherwise. Cold Southerly, but no frost or ice as we had been expecting. The cold Southerly’s really cranking up now – blowing straight up the stream, very unpleasant out at the fence, even with the sun intermittently popping out of the clouds.

Ma was all excited on the blower telling me about the amazing big reddish yellow star she saw last night & was even happier to learn that that’s the first time she’s seen Mars. It’s very close to earth in its orbit & will be even closer in July, so with clear skies even the naked-eye views will be superb.

Duchess is now a regular diner. A very imperious quack-quack-quacking usually announces her presence behind the fence. She and another few groups of duck couples have spent the day mostly hunkered down snoozing in little spots in the stream foliage where they’re out of the biting wind.

When I looked for her over the fence about 11.30 this morning she was on the bank with the most amazing-looking duck I’ve ever seen. I’ll post a video or pic later. It’s a very rare exotic variety.

Was it small and a blue colour? Please show us. Thanks

It was small but no, it wasn’t blue. Comin’ up shortly sis. Been having trouble putting a movie of the different clips together. Autofocus on my Nokia smartphone can’t handle all the movement of the wind in the water and the foliage so the blimmin videos are not as sharp as I wanted.

Not a Mandarin……????? They are stunning.

Duchess is the loveliest one of her kind that I have ever seen. She makes the usual ones look plain.

Thanks snowy. I told Flynn when he first emailed me that for an opinion that I thought his video & that song had perfectly captured the experience & hopelessness & loneliness the trapped, lost, can’t see my way out of here feeling of someone experiencing clinical depression. I’ve been there more than once & it just resonated on so many levels. But in a way that somehow makes it ok, because you know someone else understands it too.

But it’s also just a nicely put together piece of guitar music, vocals sounds & video imagery.
