Pleasing to read that North Korea are dismantling some of ts nuclear infrastructure, Trump is quietly positive, but lets see what happens. Always pleasing to see potentially a safer world and perhaps a better life for future nth Koreans.

Perceptions of the day with Corky:

1- One News last night couldn’t resist a snide remark regarding the rescued Thai boys who will attend a traditional Buddhist ceremony. One boy won’t be attending because he is a Christian. Holy crap… thanks for telling us. That makes up for all those bad Muslim stories you try hard not to tell.us.

2- President Trumpy may be on target for a 4.8% quarterly economic growth forecast. Is it any wonder he wants to create a list of enemies who need to be dealt with. The social media storm about this supposed ‘enemies list’ is so idiotic. Trumpy is only doing in public what was once done behind the scenes.

3- Mikey nailed it this morning regarding marijuana reform. Why he basically asked would you want to heap more misery on society? He’s right of course. Ever seen a herb head who’s been cold turkey for a week?

4- Andy’s at it again. This time regarding money laundering. Yep, soon you won’t be able to lay a bet at the TAB without producing ID. Leave the black economy alone, Andy. It supports many people who would otherwise be poor. He believes 5 billion is involved. That’s a lot of goods and services.

Total fail on this on this one Corks. What does you mean? Did he mean say why heap more misery on society by legalising cannabis, or why heap more misery on society by spending more millions failing trying to keep it illegal?

Don’t get me wrong. Your opinions are controversial, you generalise about entire groups by extrapolating out your own experience & viewpoint, & your style is usually provocative – but I think you hold your opinions honestly, you express them fearlessly, & you’re a good writer, Corks. That one just wasn’t up your best standard.

yeah I looked in the mirror .
Don’t look any different at all. Never had a problem stopping at any time even when I grew and smoked mega. A mate claims he gets a bit grumpy and a head ache for a few days.
I have seen a junkie missing his fix. That is pretty bad with writhing around and unable to talk clearly.
Alcohol withdrawal can result in death.
Cannabis withdrawal is a mild dose of the flu at worse.

Cannabis is already here. Making it legal will not make much difference most kiwis have tried it and most could get some if they wanted to. The big losers would be the gangs missing out on the easy money. It would also restrict the gang networks used to sell P and stolen goods they get from running the black market for cannabis.

I suppose he’ll interview David Seymour on the issue soon as that would be interesting.

Seymour would likely champion the state getting out of people’s lives – using cannabis being an individual’s choice – not allowing it because some others might have problems using the stuff shouldn’t impinge on the rights of others.

According to police, the acid attack on a baby was not racially motivated. I think most of us would have assumed that. Western racists, as a rule, don’t throw acid in a babies face. The police are also quoted as saying the situation is ‘complicated.’ What the hell does that mean? Sound like these coppers are making excuses for someone.

Looks like it was a Romanian family dispute and they were a Roma family, they have a pretty poor reputation in Europe hence the sensitivities around the reporting.
I think the new Italian government want to deport them all, they are pretty innovative in relieving people of their hard earned in Paris and London. The London Mayor used to give them thousands to go home which they would pocket and be back a couple of weeks later which was hilarious, there was a camp of them in Hyde Park causing all sorts of fun and excitement. I have a Romanian mate and the consensus back home is they are not upset if the Roma travel elsewhere.

The father of the three-year-old boy doused in acid while shopping with his mother has been arrested and is being questioned over the attack, MailOnline can reveal.

The 39-year-old suspect, an Afghan asylum seeker who has not been named, was the first suspect detectives held after the boy was targeted while sitting in a pushchair during a shopping trip to Home Bargains with his mother.

Three other younger men are also being grilled in connection with Saturday afternoon’s horrific attack in Worcester after they were arrested 130 miles away in Walthamstow.

They are reportedly eastern Europeans from the Romani community and accomplished bare-knuckle fighters, their east London neighbours said.

Today a fifth man, 41, from Wolverhampton, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.

There has been suggestions the intended victim was the boy’s mother, who split from the father following ten years because she had become ‘westernised’, The Sun reports.

When the pair were in a relationship she would wear a full veil but in recent years had removed it and moved to an address in Worcester 30 miles away with the children.

It is believed the estranged father discovered the whereabouts of his wife when a photo appeared in a local newspaper showing one of the children at a local event.

It is alleged that the gang bungled the attack and the three-year-old got splashed with the noxious substance accidentally in the process.

Actually, when you read the whole article it’s pretty confusing. It says further down that the mother’s from Eastern Europe. They make it sound like she maybe hooked up with an Afghan Muslim man, had kids, wore the veil, abandoned it, fled him and was in a safe house in a different town – & he maybe hired some Romani fugs to chuck acid on her face, & screwed it up, getting her child.

I’m just listening to Kerre McIvor trying to handle Leighton’s talkback slot. She’s out of her depth. She has already been taken apart by a couple of Righties and exposed for her shallow thinking. Another Rightie texted in and called her a ‘cow’. My guess is he owns a new Porsche 911 that has the fuel injection problem.

When Leighton moves on his incisive information and investigation will be missed. For example the other day he quoted from a book about something a Russian spy defector told the author. He said Eastern book security services spent most of their time rewriting and changing history. Records, media and personal accounts were more important to them than surveillance and espionage. That definitely isn’t the Western view. Who is right?

Can you imagine Kerre instigating such a debate? I can’t. This isn’t a ‘put Kerre down post’.
I just think she’s a poor choice for that time slot.’

It does create misery, Zedd. It has wiped the Maori community out. Those young Maori dead beats you see hanging around town doing nothing. 90 plus percent would be regular tokers.. And that’s just Maori.

I’m all for decriminalization of Marijuana. However, if you want a benefit you must be drug free. Same goes for medical care. If you want to be a druggie, fine. Just don’t expect emergency care for drug related issues, should be the policy. I would rather see a druggie wheeled out into the corridor to die, than have people who actually care a fuck suffering in a AE waiting room for 5 hours while some drugged or pissed wastrel is stabilized.

I can’t afford these products. But I will tell you going by the middle and wealthy class who buy at my health shop, they are well schooled in the efficacy of certain products. Time and again I see these products in their shopping basket. The ignorant run of the mill shopper will buy anything with a colorful package, and at the right price.

            • I’d hate to have so little to do that I’d hang around looking into other people’s shopping baskets. You told us that you do this in supermarkets, too; hanging around the cheap meat and displaying your steak to salivating poor people who can’t afford it.

Arguably though, this bullshit “Bread & Circuses”, ‘Claytons’ Amendment Bill passing may have done them more harm than pulling the plug now does?

I mean … they lost me long ago, but Labour may loose more voters actually enacting BS legislation than they do by being “unable to reach agreement” …

How fucken pathetic … Orhhh, so sorry, we haven’t been able to reach agreement

Citizen 1: That’s fine. Democracy’s about majority rule. Let’s go with what the majority of you decided?

Select Committee (SC): Ohhh, sorry, because we couldn’t reach agreement we didn’t take a vote

Citizen 2: (Bleeeeeeep) It’s not about reaching agreement! There’s 17000+ submissions. Itemize their suggestions and count each one. Find out what the people want to do, write it into the legislation and (Bleeeping well) vote on it!

SC: (Sweating) We’d have to agree to take a vote … and we can’t reach an agreement on that.

Citizen 1: (Bleeeeeeeep! Bleep! Bleep bleep bleeep! Bleeeeeeeeeeep!) How many (Bleeeping!) Select Committees have ever recommended that a Bill they’re considering NOT GO AHEAD!? (Bleeeeeeeep!) Like, Let’s NOT progress the legislation we’ve been working on!

Law of unintended consequences, the fact it does nothing to stop domestic violence & making businesses pay for things totally outside their control makes National have a point.

Newshub: “National opposed the Bill, saying it could negatively impact women if employers choose not to take them on in case they take the leave.
“Ultimately, employers will start to filter and start to look at whether or not they want to hire someone that may present a risk around domestic violence because ultimately it could impact on their business,” justice spokesperson Mark Mitchell told Newshub.
“Jan Logie’s Bill is not going to prevent or stop one domestic violence attack against a woman… And actually if the Government really believes in this Bill, then fund it – don’t pass the cost onto small and medium businesses,” Mr Mitchell said.”

    From this site –

[Your are quoting from Voiceofeurope.com – please use more reliable sources, especially when just requoting.

Voice of Europe is a far right website that publishes sensational stories.

Voice of Europe reports stories from European media and frames and spins them in a misleading way that always turns out negative for immigrants and the European Union

Voice of Europe also has a poor track record with fact checkers.

Voice of Europe’s stories consist of sensational click bait headlines and focus on a variety of topics that are mostly anti-immigrant with emotionally loaded headlines and content …

Overall, this site is Questionable due to extreme right wing bias, promotion of propaganda, conspiracy theories and poor sourcing.
