Probably not much appetite here for polynesian-flavoured hip hop; but anyway this one is new from SWIDT (based in Onehunga, Auckland) Paula Bennett claims to be a fan…

Drat – a lovely morning but it looks like rain again … & I missed the 767 or whatever the big ones are that I keep trying to get on video! Dunno what this little plane is.

These babies – Boeing 777-200s – they’re so big, compared to all the others they seem to just hang in the air coming in to land. Very graceful & stately.

      • It must have taken real courage to go on the first flights in planes. Or on the first boats made of iron; thanks, but no thanks, after you !

    • I suppose that to an Italian, Giacomo Casanova is as ordinary a name as Jim Newhouse would be to us. It’s hard to imagine Newhouse being used as a generic name as Casanova is for that sort of person….

Guiseppe Verdi sounds much more euphonious than Joe Green :-/

Did you notice all the accursed plastic bags caught in the foliage on the far bank in both my videos today?

No. You do seem to be unlucky. A study showed that the majority of plastic bags are reused and recycled; 70% of people put their bags into a shop’s recycle bin. The 30% must live near you.

The rubbish I see most of is takeaway wrappings and containers. Very few plastic bags now. This was a bit of a surprise.

That’s only a fraction of them sis. Some of them are well up beyond reach & there are more snagged on obstructions like branches & the edges of roofing iron in the water. There even more on the parenga on my side. The problem’s getting worse every year.

Put in a RFS to your local council ask that someone fit healthy and gets the average wage to come to clean it out before the Plastic Bags cause Real trouble and get wrapped around some fish who is just minding his own business…

      Awesome! Absolutely … awesome!

So New ZealLand and Australia have at least one thing in common …

In both cases our indigenous peoples’ flags are vastly superior to our colonist emblems.
