For all those who think “hate speech” should be banned, they need to think on the quote “The ultimate good desired is better reached by free trade in ideas — that the best test of truth is the power of the thought to get itself accepted in the competition of the market, and that truth is the only ground upon which their wishes safely can be carried out.”
What makes it even more poignant is that it was written by the judge who had earlier written “The most stringent protection of free speech would not protect a man in falsely shouting fire in a theatre and causing a panic.”
It is generally thought that the former quote was mea culpa for the latter.

An educated post from a nearby rightwing blog,BUT will it see the light of day here and does the posters knuckles reach to the ground,so many questions so little time

I’ve just seen a Muslim man break his hand punching what he thought was his wife.
Someone had put a burka over a letterbox.

And to think we are letting these people into our country, Lurchy! On bight side, Post Bank is removing many letterboxes. Next thing you know Muslims will want punch rooms next to their prayer rooms. What next? Banning music? Don’t laugh, it will happen.

I see a lot of feral rightwingers like two Canadians with a third Canadian weirdo female hater coming soon who will go down like a bucket of cold vomit and i guarantee he will not see the light of day in New Zealand if the feminists have their way

You may have a point, Lurchy. This time the spotlight will be on police action…or more correctly – inaction. Us Righties may get to kill two stones with one bird..

      • The letterbox story seems to be a joke in poor taste; no sign of it anywhere.I didn’t really expect there to be any, but checked just in case,

If it was true, the wife would have to have been a pigmy ot the letterbox very tall, both highly improbable.

The problem is that the gullible who want to believe this will do so, and repeat it.

        • Postbank was closed twenty years ago,

Feather in your cap. You probably thought I meant Post ANZ.

            • No. I assumed that you meant Postbank, as you said Post Bank.

It was actually Postbank ANZ, not Post ANZ.

No, I assumed that you meant Postbank (Postbank ANZ) when you said Post Bank. It was a reasonable assumption that someone who says Post Bank means Postbank.

Who would have thought? A bit of global warming and more CO2 has meant more trees on the planet, not fewer. Global warming alarmists distraught at good news:

Oh, Boy, Oh, Boy…my marae just received a million dollars, thanks to taxpayers. It had been promised for a while ( I am yet to confirm that amount).

Already the jealousy has started ( a sad trait within Maoridom). One aunty has told me she’s just been uninvited to a 60th. 😒.

Still, who cares. We have a million bucks. Now all that needs to be negotiated is the hapu infighting as to how the money is used.

Why investment in roads of national significance was wise and productive:

… and why failure to do so has produced unnecessary poverty and welfare dependence.

    • The same page has a story about Trump Jr photoshopping a poll result to make daddy look as if his approval rate was 50% when it was actually 40%.
