Got to give it to her, she is trying to live by her ideals. I can respect that, even if it was partly a publicity stunt( that has worked). However, she will lose my respect if that bike chain is lubed with petroleum oil and not organic beef lard.

This shelia should have been the Greens new co-leader. Big mistake there Greenies.

Yes. She’s in NZ now. Any guesses on the bike chain, Robert?

              Hemp oil, I would surmise.

😆 Yes, well she could afford it. At $22.90 for a bottle of Kanapu hemp oil ( featured on Country Calendar) mine goes down my throat and not on or in to anything else.

Absolutely. If they don’t want to be sheilas they should stay in California.

Yep – so she’s a sheila called JAG.
              Nothing wrong with sheilas Zeddy.
              Or Trevs. 🙂

It’s wonderful in so many ways: where else in the world, if anywhere or if ever, has a MP done this? Jacinda brought a level of attention to NZ by giving birth “in office”, so to speak, and now one of her MP’s has taken the story a step, or revolution, further. It leaves previous PMs and MPs looking very conventional; not that there’s anything wrong with that; Jacinda and Julie Anne have simply moved the story forward in a way that’s encouraging and heart-warming. I did wonder if, in the back of Julie Anne’s mind there was the thought that by the time she reached the hospital, she might not need to be induced at all! Fast rides on motorcycles over bumpy roads, meals of hot chilli and many other alternative induction methods have been tried since forever 🙂

JAG attention-seeking again. What was the point ?

        Look! A green-headed monster!

IIs the green-headed monster you ?

If you are implying that I am jealous, of JAG, you must be mad. I can think of few people whom I would rather less be than Ms Genter, who seems a very silly person. I have no respect for her and her views. She is patronising towards women in a way that few, if any, men are.

The quotation you may be groping towards is ‘ Beware, my lord, of jealousy. It is the green-eyed monster that doth mock [imitate] the meat it feeds on,’

          It’s from Othello, of course.

Here’s one for you: ‘How ill white hairs become a fool and jester.’

(You) lean and slippered pantaloon !

Ivan Mallard just got his ass handed to him by Sweety Pook.

He’s been bullying and monstering the pooks whenever he felt like it when he’s joined them in my yard over the last 3 days.

She’s a peaceful sort of gal but she’d finally had enuf. She never said a word. She just walked him around the ring for about a minute, not letting up, not backing down, giving him the old one-two with her feet, over and over again.

Now he’s treating her with the respect she deserves.

My girl knows how to kick-box. 😎

And Ivan has just done a vtol takeoff to hover approximately 9 feet in front of the ktichen window, looking in, for several seconds, notifying me of his readiness to dine. If I knew this was happening in advance I would try and catch it on video. It’s an amazing sight. But it was to no avail: he has to learn he only gets fed once in the morning and once in the evening. I am not a birdbeck and birdcall.

I’m waiting for you or robert, there. Will it have a gender – do you think?

      • robertguyton

         /  August 20, 2018

Bound to, I’d say; an agenda too, eventually, and a Genter somewhere in their name, to top it all off!

        • Gezza

           /  August 20, 2018

Oh well, I hope she has a nice healthy baby. We all do.

Cheers, Gezza. If and when I see them, I’ll give the wee one’s cheek a squeeze on your behalf.

Just gently stroke its head or cheek and tell it it’s beautiful & I’ll be content, robert.

    Gezza’s Stream: Status Report:

Eli was again sighted splashing up through the shallow rapids at approximately 8.30 am this morning once the stream was sowed with some meat morsels. Only one of the two Burgle Boys appeared & this time only managed to up-end and get about half of it, so Eli was able to receive some reward for his effort.

I observed him quietly hunting the meat by smell for approximately 30 minutes, following which he turned around, undulated gracefully into the faster current alongiside the opposite parenga & swiftly raced back downstream. Yet again although I watched closely he did not reappear beyond the rapids. It therefore seems that his current home is under the bank in one of the swiftest parts of the stream. Interesting.

Intermittent, sometimes heavy rain since around 10 am. The stream is running high and brown already. On occasion it is running clear and suddenly gets murky brown and rises very quickly, as though water has been released from a dam. Investigation this morning has revealed that is indeed the case: Stebbings Dam, located in Churton Park, about 6 km upstream on the main source of the stream:

    Stebbings Dam
Stebbings Dam was built as part as part of the flood control measure for Porirua Stream. Access is gained by a short walk, either from the end of Stebbings Road in Glenside or from Westchester Drive in Churton Park. The planting site is on Stebbings Stream at the base of the dam.

The site is exposed to strong winds and winter frosts. As a result we have needed to plant this site with a selection of hardy plants. Native fish are often seen in the stream.

I am going to visit this dam. It sounds like a beautiful, not well-known, accessible location where native reforestation is being undertaken.
