Q+A – Marama Davidson and James Shaw

Colrin Dann interviewed both Green leaders James Shaw and Marama Davidson on Q+A last night.

James Shaw on Greens in Government: “you’re not going to please all the people all the time”

Marama Davidson: no campaign on c-word, at a rally for racism I talked about the words used against me

Davidson may have heeded feedback and decided it was not going to be a popular issue to pursue.

“keep our country from being one big rubbish tip.”
That’s exactly what The Greens say, Corky!
Can I send you an enrolment form?
As for begging National to save you…
…you’re gonna have to wait some time…

Listen to Leighton ( ZB). People are ringing in with their stories about folk dumping rubbish in public areas. Now imagine what it’ll be like when rubbish disposal charges increase. You do the numbers.

Under National, people were dumping their rubbish in public places?
Are you advocating for “business as usual”?
The Greens propose consultation with the public and no change before 2020, yes?
That’ll stir up those who really want the problem gone. Nothing has so far.

That was an excellent interview from James and Marama.
All is well in the Green world, despite the difficulties.

I think Corin went reasonably easy on them, but I agree with you – that interview went well. They answered every question, honestly- and articulately: both have excellent English diction, thank goodness – when I think of the top two of the other lot. Marama’s is a very beautiful woman. She doesn’t deserve that sort of disgusting abuse she got.

I think Marama & James were just being pragmatic.. ‘better to be in Govt. & get some gains, rather than remain in opposition & get NONE !’ (similar to what Maori party said, for 9 loooong years)

Tories pushing the nonsense that ‘as a separate party, they should stand on their ‘principles’ & vote against bills they dont really support’ Again just proving; that Natl do NOT understand MMP !

btw; They did vote against the CPTPP bill.. which was supported by all the other parties. It maybe part of the C&S agreement to abstain or vote against Govt. bills (from Lab. or NZF) but how long do you think, this Govt. would last, if either of the Govt. parties started doing this, on a regular basis ?
*exactly what Natl & their cronies/voters are hoping for !

Dann was asking whether the Greens are concerned that Lab. or NZF were taking credit for their policy ideas.. as a Govt. they are all working together on the issues. I dont think the Greens are concerned about ‘brownie points’ so much as getting their policies implemented… by this Lab./Grn/NZF Govt. 🙂

“It is Great to see the Greens finally in Govt. with Green Ministers !!” time to cut through all the B-S from the naysayers 🙂 😀
