No lady ever leaves the house without making sure that she looks neat and well-groomed.

Smooth hair, clean white frilly knickers in case you have to go to hospital and the doctor is single…then make sure that you walk in a dainty and ladylike manner, and you’re ready to go anywhere, girls !

Yes, I’m sure Sweety thinks the same sort of thing about making sure she looks good before dining out.

That was a sweet scene. It was a beautiful sunny morning on Thursday, as you can see. I was just looking over the fence with a coffee at morning tea time, to see if either of my eels was about, & she hopped up there from my lawn, coming up close, trying to get me to put a few extra wheat grains on the top railing. She’s such a charmer when she does that. All coy and demure.

I gave her some extra, and then said that that was all, no more – so she just started to groom in the sun, right next to me, while the other two just pottered around, grazing, on the stream bank. I just quietly manoeuvred a cellcam onto my left elbow & wondered how long she’d take. About 8 minutes all up, most of it on video. Pity the low-angle sunlight has washed out a little bit of the scene but I still think it’s a nice video clip.

It’s delightful. She is utterly unselfconscious as she does her DIY beauty treatment thing. It’s very girly. Some things are universal and know no species. I have never seen anything like this,

Were the others pooknicking on the bank ?

There are birds in England – reedlings – and if they are caught in the rain, he puts up a wing over her and uses it as an umbrella.

Sorry that clip of one is open and playing in Wikipedia – just curious to see if the link would post and play like a YouTube video – but obviously not.
