This is not a parody, I repeat, this is not a parody (though it may look like one)

And a great thread in response to it.

A good commentary from Navratilova on Serena William’s melt down.

    • That’s the best I have seen on it. There’s been a lot of nonsense – and the report on Newshub last night was quite unbalanced.

Young Maori mum in the shuttle with me on the way back from Welly Hospital to Kenepuru yesterday was talking about to me when the reactions it’s generated from feminists about sexism came on the news on the driver’s radio. She said of Serena. “That’s shit. There was nothing sexist about that. She ruined that poor Japanese girl’s big day. The kid was in tears. What an entitled cow Serena is. She didn’t like losing.”

I don’t know whether Newshub feels any obligation to be ‘balanced’ but last night they were quite unbalanced. Over two days I heard views on various radio stations from many experienced, well-known people in tennis, players and officials. Since the match I’d read various opinions in overseas media. There seemed to be as many supporting Williams’ actions as against.
Nerwshub did not present stuff from the side which supported the umpire’s rulings and the way he ruled.
In wondering why the views of eminent tennis people criticising Williams were not presented on Newshub I strayed into Cynic Street. Maybe Newshub was currying favour for the Williams’ visit next year.

Hopefully Lizzie Marvelly will cover it. It will be good to see her balanced view on the matter.

Great article, the elite chair umpires make bout $US700 a day. $US17000 on prize money of about $1.9 million is less than 1%.

I see the BBC is worried people may get the wrong end of the stick regarding climate change.
So the BBC has taken it upon themselves to make sure people get the right end of the stick and see light through the dark ignorance of people like me who call this bs out as the scam it is.

          To paraphrase Isaac Asimov.
“There is a cult of ignorance in the United Statesamong some commenters , and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”

Third time around, Griff. Time to change the needle. I’ve already dealt with your endless parroting of scientific theory without any attempt of critical review.

CO2 is a green house gas physics known for well over a century .
Burning Fossil fuels has added 40% CO2 to the atmosphere.
              Feed back.
More energy retained because of CO2 means more moisture in the atmosphere another green house gas . Measured and confirmed as happening.

More green house gasses means the planet will warm. confirmed by multiple temperatures series and the resulting effects on the cryosphere among other metrics.

              Some Implications.
More evaporation means more extremes of rainfall and perversely deeper droughts .
Watch a jug boil. more energy means more turbulence more extreme weather . Stronger storms .
Warming oceans and melting land ice means sea level will rise .
              All measured as happening .
              .
We have critical review its called the IPCC were the global community nominates a group of qualified scientists who careful examine published scientific literature and produce a report so governments know what the science is saying.
Anyone interested has a chance to query the science before the report is released.
              All review comments are answered.

A bunch of whackos dont get equal footing with experts.
We dont get the flat earth society to comment every time someone talks about space in the interests of balance . We should not get a bunch of loons spurting nonsense as balance every time climate change comes up either.

So now we play the man. What of the scientists who don’t agree with climate change theory; or parts of climate change theory.? What of the discredited Cooks study showing 90plus % of scientists believe in CC? These are fundamental issues before we even start debating the science

Do dissenters get a look-in with the media?

I don’t make my own bs up. I use some of their insights and have come to the conclusion the science is not settled.

If you believe CC isn’t a scam, I want you to state ”the science is settled.”

“being forgetful is not lying…is it?”

See below – she made up an entirely new question that was never asked of her by Lynch. The same question that had wall to wall MSM coverage, articles and opinion pieces written about it and was picked over by many on social media and she comes out with something totally incorrect that wasn’t even asked of her? Please…

Possibly she was already good at it – it’s just that nobody knew because all she had actually done until Andy gave up in despair was pose for womens mags and crash a tractor?

Very defensive this morning with Hosking – she says “I was asked (by Chris Lynch) from memory, IS HER SEAT SAFE” – this is a blatant lie as those words were never spoken. His question asked if she was ‘cutting her loose’ ‘firing her’. The actual question and the answer she gave to Chris Lynch has had plenty of MSM coverage and been dissected by many so for her to say that was how she remembered it is bollocks.

Wouldn’t surprise me if she goes the ‘fake news’ route and stops going on Hosking’s show. Instead she could get a different seven year old to ask her questions at the many schools she prefers speaking at.

          • David

             /  September 11, 2018

She sounded a bit defensive, she is great with parroting rehearsed lines and regurgitating on demand from the Labour party playbook stock answers to inevitable questions.
I dont think Hoskings could be all that bothered talking to her, she lied and she should have fired Curran and she wasnt going to concede at all because that would have been the bigger headline.

For a moment there I thought you meant Ardern saying, “I was asked (by Chris Lynch) from memory, IS HER SEAT SAFE” was a blatant lie because those words were never spoken.

      She said “from memory”?

A hard person like you no doubt would have accepted “I do not recall.” Maybe that could be her stock answer but then if she answers stuff by saying “I do not recall” you would likely suggest she’s not fit for office because of her poor memory. (Amongst the other 129 reasons.)

I still keep hearing/seeing about the temper spat from Serena W. at US open final.. the thing they have hardly mentioned, as result: Naomi Osaka (Japan) won her first Grand Slam title !

I heard someone on ZB talkback saying that some folks, think Serena actually won it

    Oh dear…. fake news ?? 😦

    • Blazer

       /  September 11, 2018

Serena isn’t used to losing, so good she is (and the women’s game so weak) that she generally cruises to grand slam victories. Her meltdown is all to do with entitlement & frustration.

Her arguing that she should be able to abuse officials because apparently the men get away with it is hardly taking the high road.
