Media Watch is a focus on New Zealand media, blogs and social media. You can post any items of interested related to media.

A primary aim here is to hold media to account in the political arena. A credible and questioning media is an essential part of a healthy democracy.

A general guideline – post opinion on or excerpts from and links to blog posts or comments of interest, whether they are praise, criticism, pointing out issues or sharing useful information.

  1. There was a disappointing end to the Warrior’s season as they fizzled out in the playoffs, but there is one high to end on.

    • He stepped up last season when Shaun Johnson didn’t. Love Johnson but he needs a big season next year.

        Johnson needs some forwards who create go forward so he can work his magic.
        When the forwards go missing (as happened against Penrith) any halfback looks average.

        • Would help but I think Johnson’s biggest failing is he doesn’t demand the ball enough and lacks the ability to take control when required like a Thurston or Cronk would do. Also appears to have dropped in pace as well from a time when he was one of the quickest going around – again that was a major part of his arsenal he can’t rely on now.
