Most people are sheep

I’ve seen similar sorts of crowd behaviour experiments, with similar results. A small percentage of people are usually prepared to act differently amongst strangers.

One experiment was in a waiting room where smoke started to come under the door into the room. If actors stayed seated and ignored it, other people generally stayed seated too, albeit uneasily glancing at the smoke.

Well, that’s how people wind up voting Labour.

Our teacher at primary school used a similar experiment. He was in the Territorials and gave us a test to see if we could follow instructiuons. No one in class could,.but what our teacher didn’t realise was that test was what the army used to condition him to blindly follow orders…and get himself killed.

He must have been a thick teacher and even thicker Territorial if he was so stupid that he would blindly follow orders and get killed. I was under the impression that the idea was NOT to get yourself killed. What sort of army would issue orders that were certain to kill the soldiers following them ?

          Oh dear, indeed.

The idea is to kill the other side, isn’t it ?

This whole story is a little, er, non compos mentis.

Army Motto….Dilly, dilly, dilly, dilly, come and be killed.

          • Can they not even…rhyme?
“The idea is to kill the other side, isn’t it ? ”
That’s one idea, Kitty, and what the soldiers may think. The fine chaps at HQ, however, may have other…priorities. No thoughts about “cannor fodder”, at all?

They wouldn’t waste time and money training up people to be cannon fodder, and only a fool would volunteer to be cannon fooder (or food for powder as Falstaff said) if that was what the job entailed. This ‘poster’ has said some very odd things about the army before (totally inaccurate) and I think that this story is another fantasy from the same source.

Dilly, dilly….is very old, it’s part of something else but I have forgotten what. I think it’s sung to geese.

              Sorry, it’s ducks, not geese.

Did you know that dux belli is Latin for a war leader ?

              Donald Trump, Dux Belli.

I think in 2020 you will hear much ‘baaaaahing’’ for National. Sheep don’t vote for a farmer turning their country into mint sauce.

No way. My tattoos are uniques, all my friend’s tattoos are different from mine.

Being a sheep is safe, imagine being a Conservative amongst Left wing idealogues or in University faculties; devoured within milliseconds.

The tattoos written in Chinese characters, I was told it meant chair. My friends had table and cutlery written in Chinese. One, unfortunately, has the tattoo, “Dumb Ass”- very unique. This happened after a hard night out demonstrating with Greenpeace.

They are ashamed of them now, apparently, the cultural appropriation was too much to bear.

(for those not so bright- this is satire)

There’s a story that a gang member wanted PUKEKOHE tattooed across his forehead…but the tattooist ran out of space and couldn’t fit the last two letters on.

    Most people are sheep …

Hardly surprising given that we have a whole ‘system’ – its central component being education – largely devoted to fashioning and keeping them so …

    Us i mean …

I don’t know when and where YOU were at school, but it wasn’t like that when I was a schoolgirl. We were encouraged to think for ourselves.
