speaking of UP and Go…I was a fan of Fonterras competing brand, Fast Start oats based and much tastier imo.
It was discontinued and when I enquired why, was told it wasn’t poular!Guess thats why it was always sold out!
I suspect Sanitarium who ‘make’ Up and Go…applied some sort of pressure on Fonterra re supply of ingredients.

I never heard of Fast Start, Blazer. If I had, on your recommendation, I’d have given it a try. Up & Go has been more heavily promoted on supermarkets here I think. That really might be all there is to it?

I like the UP & GO Strawberry flavour. But I remember Up & Go being advertised on tv and it’s probably why I looked for it in the local supermarkets if I was in the mood to buy a 3 or 6 pack of the small ones every now and then.

Fast Start had a very good vanilla flavour. It didn’t seem as thick as Up and Go.

YET.. another death related to SYNTHETICS.. but our politicians still ‘sit on the fence’. Surely they know the way to stop this.. legal regulation of natural Herb !
How many more desperate folks have to die, before we either have the promised referendum (on or BEFORE 2020) OR they decide it IS time to act on this issue !?

I see in the news that more USA states & countries ARE moving to reform their weed laws.. meanwhile we just fall further & further behind.. stuck in the backward looking 1950-70s mindset; ‘Reefer madness’ etc

Exploding wheelchair wounds FBI agent in Oregon

A criminal complaint filed last month in US District Court in Oregon described a booby-trapped house straight out of a scene from the Indiana Jones film Raiders of the Lost Ark or, perhaps, Home Alone – outfitted with steel snares and other traps, a rolling hot tub and a wheelchair somehow used to shoot an officer.

The owner, Gregory Lee Rodvelt, was arrested and charged in 2007 with illegally possessing explosive devices, but he had just been released from custody to relinquish his property in a separate legal matter.

Court records show that he also has a criminal history, including arrests for DUIs, dangerous drugs and domestic abuse, as well as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which appears to be related to the 2017 case involving explosive devices.

Following his most recent arrest September 8, Rodvelt was asked by the investigators to tell him about other traps in the house, according to the court records.
“I would not race right in,” he told them.

Must be a BIG STORY. Getting a Red Banner scrolling headline …

How right-wing lobby group NZ Taxpayers’ Union used false identities to make OIA request – and how it got caught

HUGE STORY – except when you read it and it turns out they did nothing wrong and used the pseudonyms for a reason.
That upstanding and straight as a die fellow JW may have been caught out in a porky about emailing using the name “Raquel Ray” on something though – can’t remember what that was about, but apparently it was a thing back when it happened.

well lying and dishonesty are viewed as business as usual by the right these days…I guess.

The OIA explicitly allows for anonymous & / or hidden identity requests. They literally followed the law.

This is disturbing but definitely not unexpected. Science has been corrupted by ideology (these are admittedly social sciences):

“Three intrepid academics just perpetrated a giant version of the Sokal Hoax, placing scores of fake papers in major academic journals. Call it Sokal Squared.

The result is hilarious and delightful. It also showcases a serious problem with big parts of academia.

(They) set out to show that ideology reigns supreme in what they call “Grievance Studies”: academic areas organized around victim groups, and often more motivated by a political agenda than a serious search for the truth.

In a year, three scholars managed to get seven papers accepted into top journals. If this was the record of an actual academic, it would put them on track for tenure at a major university.

And, deary me, what papers these are!

There’s the paper that doesn’t just advocate stopping white males from speaking in class; it encourages teachers to institute a form of “experiential reparation” by making their white students sit on the ground bound in chains.

There is the paper that labels men who masturbate while thinking about a woman without gaining her prior consent as perpetrators of sexual violence.

There is the paper that dismisses western astronomy as sexist and imperialist, making a case for physics departments to study feminist astrology instead.

There is the paper that’s LITERALLY A RE-WRITE OF SECTIONS OF MEIN KAMPF.”

I see that the new Human Rights Commissioner has been named. This appears to be a very political appointment looking at the guy named.
