This should be in Open Forum, but I do agree that he asked for what he got. In the days of hatpins, these were often carried behind lapels as a deterrent to men like this.

It’s been very hot; I did some weedeating with my little weedeater….and lost the spring which flew off into parts unknown.Oh joy, I found it again after much raking and poking around with a magnetic screwdriver. They can be used without one, I discovered, but it’s much better to have it. I shall paint it inside with a bright colour.

Nice post, High Flyer. I love to see bullies being taught respect. The ”slap” is coming back into the street fight scene. It is seen as too girlie by many men. However, connoisseurs
know it can be a devastating move able to be launched from nowhere. It is quite capable of splitting the carotid artery.

Respect is not in the thesaurus as a synonym for violence. Hitting someone on the carotid artery can kill them; it’s like the coward punch.

That’s such a delight! They’re infrequent visitors here, but their call gives me chills.

(whispers) I saw one in the Birds; Hotel tree once. It wasn’t a great view, of course, but I was delighted,

I love owls and am really pleased that they are still fashionable as a design. My bedroom clock is owl-shaped and is printed to look like an appliqued owl…I, er, rhink that they were meant for children, but would bet that I am not the only adult with one..

My husband gave a little gold and diamond owl not long before he died. I treasure it and never take it off except to clean it.

At 7.40 pm. Sweety paid a quiet, wary visit over the fence. The coast was clear of cats so I put some bread over there for her – but suddenly a very cute-looking little rat poked its head out of the blocks, grabbed it and ducked back in again. So she waited & pecked it on the head when I popped out again – and it ducked back into the gap between the concrete blocks.

When I enticed her back down from her “safe branch” with some wheat, she missed the extra little bit of wholegrain bread I’d put there for her. Look closely near her botty. The rat didn’t 😀
