    FOR ANGEL

    My dear Bluey and Sweety
I just would like to say
That I loved your pretty pooklet
Though we had her for one day

I watched you caring for her
    Your fluffy baby black
But she was born so special
Your God went & took her back

I laid her down with roses
And so perfect she did seem
Then I kissed your Angel gently
And I gave her to Our Stream

You do not grieve, thank goodness
Though you seemed to feel my pain
But our lives go on regardless
And you’ll make me smile again

Thank you Alan, so do I. She sent me home from ED after we got there at 10 pm & after I kept falling over asleep, waiting for nurses doctors and a surgeon – who after 6 hours still hadn’t arrived. They promised they would admit her and although I wanted to stay with her until that happened, in the end I realised she was right & I should come home and go back later today (notwithstanding her saying “don’t, you’re here today already”.

Not clear what the problem is but she is definitely very unwell & I await a phone call. I haven’t been to bed yet. Naturally, by the time I got home in the taxi I was wide bloody awake. I expect I’ll pass out shortly and get a couple of hours sleep at least.

I always have to tell myself that someone else must need care more than I do and that when I was scraped off the road, I would have queue-jumped….it’s the same with xrays. I have never minded waiting for those, as I would have gone to the top of the queue that time.

It doesn’t make the waiting time seem any shorter, though.

One time when my old man was admitted, an apology for a man whom I recognised as being one who beat his girlfriend to death came in handcuffed to two wardens and was in the cubicle next to the one we were in. He looked quite ordinary, but she loved him so much that she had a tattoo on her face that said that she belonged to him and wouldn’t leave him, no matter what he did to her.

    • Oh my goodness !

Just came up from feeding Ella and Elvira (separately, a bit of a challenge)

Bluey came over and got some wheat grains and took some and a chunk of bread to Alex, who still hides but came out briefly onto Angel’s Beach. Growing bigger – looks like a young black kiwi now,

Windy norwesterly but it’s sunny and the stream is receding from yesterday’s rain. There was no sign of Sweety, but just as I looked back to see where my two lady eels were now (they hove up in different places). I heard Sweety’s recognisable soft, high girlies voice upstream and she eventually wandered into view over the far side.

I called her, but she just peeped and went up into the bushes, and came down again, followed by a little, mobile, black white-beaked, orange legged, fluffball. Angel ❤ has a twin ! 😀

And when I just now put the binoculars on them down on the beach, Alex walked down from the bushes and joined them, in the sun, for a few minutes, while Sweety looked up at me as I called her name “Hello Sweety”, twice, and then, “you good girl”.

Alex is 5 or 6 times the pooklet’s size. All black in the beak. Might not be too long before the wing spurt starts.

After that little 5 minute outing, Sweety then just quietly walked back up into the rushy-looking bushes and ferns, followed by a very healthy-looking pooklet, and after another minute, Alex, and they all disappeared. (Good, because Elvira is still there, and was only 10 feet away, under an overhang.

I wonder if Sweety just brought pooklet down for me to see? 🙂

I wonder if that was why Angel was so tiny.

It’s wonderful news, I can hardly believe it !

I am sure that Sweety brought the new pooklet down for granddad to see.

That photo I sent you of Angel in my hand is a treasured possession.
I have an easy 9 white note stretch on a grand piano (maybe 10). My fingers are long, Kitty. She’s bigger than she looks, but still a weeny & delicate little black flower.

I’m not sure whether twins are smaller from eggs laid externally, as they are sharing a womb. That’s an interesting thing to research for me sometime.

Yes, I am sure you’re right. Sweety just wanted to show me. She made sure I got many clear views, rather than body-blocking it protectively from view when newborn, as they all did with Pickles, Jojo and Angel. They were a safe distance and she knew that, I think.

There was a funny scene afterwards when Sweety came and got some wheat and then took a bread chunk over to the baby pooklet. I’ll tell you privately later, you’ll enjoy it, I know.

I think that the girl is capable of handing out her own punishment to this idiot !

I didn’t see that coming, but should have….

We are always laughing AT him, because he’s such a wally with girls, never WITH him.

That’s true actually. I guess maybe I assumed all the schoolgirls of my youth were like those I went through school with and that I kept in touch with for many years and still bump into (2 in London in 1988)..

(Funny, I just thought, hmm, ‘bump into’ might not even be an acceptable expression in some quarters these days. But the next alternative I thought of: ‘come across’, would probably get me into even more trouble !. That’s how silly it’s got.)

The young ladies I grew up with would simply chase off a wanker who did what Bennie did in that clip, or just haul back and give fist in the eye. And that was the kind of clip they’d laugh at too, because there were some dicks like around, and they’d do what she does. They were taught to respect themselves, and go for what they wanted. Computer programmer or nurse, stay-home mum or physicist, pharmacist or businesswoman, electrical engineer or librarian. And it made most of them sensible.

It’s hard to be both equal and a victim, I don’t know girls and women are supposed to be both. MeToo has the potential to be damaging to women’s careers. In the Russell McVeagh, the behaviour was consensual, but the women were still victims.

People who complain about Benny Hill being sexist haven’t noticed that he is almost always the butt of the joke when it comes to women and him tryng it on;.

Yes. Stunned me. Beautiful. I’m still having to choke off an unexpected sob & wipe the mist from my eyes when I look at Angel’s Beach or think of her. If I was the creator these things wouldn’t happen.
