Yeah. And naturally this won’t be covered by the NZ MSM, even including that “high quality” source, RNZ National. It might get a brief mention as part of the weekly “US Report” on Nine-to-Noon, but that would be about it.

Oh – and naturally we won’t hear anything about the revelation from this Senate report about how NBC twisted the text messages between Kavanaugh and other people during the SCOTUS hearings to further a false perjury smear against him, not to mention a NYT reporter trying to “force-feed” a quote to a Kavanuagh associate.

And then people wonder why “fake news” has embedded itself. We’re not talking about wild-ass conspiracy web sites here. NBC and the NYT are supposed to be serious, fair, balanced news sources. Now for RWNJ’s like me that’s been a joke for at least 15 years, but it still amazes me that they cling to that claim.

Democrats with Bylines. That’s all they are.

‘Full Trumpism’: The president’s apocalyptic attacks reach a new level of falsity

” President Trump is painting an astonishingly apocalyptic vision of America under Democratic control in the campaign’s final days, unleashing a torrent of falsehoods and portraying his political opponents as desiring crime, squalor and poverty.”

You could be right. So who’s the better artist? Who is likelier to be representing reality more truly?

Murder, robbery, rape, adultery and incest [being] openly taught and practiced, the air will be rent with the cries of the distressed, the soil will be soaked with blood and the nation black with crimes.

The prospects for Jefferson becoming President in 1800.

Actually the election of 1828 between John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson was even dirtier and more apocalyptic – and Adams refused to attend Jackson’s inauguration, which was fine because Jackson didn’t invite him!

So this is standard political fare in the USA forever – until it’s time for the opposite play. Heard it many times before, and I’d be willing to bet that the Democrats in 2020 will replay the whole healing divisions and soothing the pain approach of Obama in 2008 or Carter in 1976.

“portraying his political opponents as desiring crime, squalor and poverty”

Given the performance of the Democrat controlled cities, this seems to be the case.

You think that’s bad? Man, you should have heard Hillary and all her supporters in the lead up to the 2016 Presidential election. The following clip catches this very nicely – although sadly it’s not a parody but is entirely serious:

Oh, and on Saturday Night Live – which amazingly still has viewers, all Left nowadays – they had their fake news segment “Weekend Update” where the guy in orange, Davidson, was mocking multiple Republican politicians for their looks. The comedian stated he’d “realized there are some pretty gross people running for office this year”. When a picture of this GOP politician, Crenshaw, was put on the screen, co-star Michael Che blurted out: “Oh, come on, man!” (laughter)

    Davidson then told him.
“You may be surprised to hear he’s a congressional candidate from Texas and not a hitman in a porno movie,” (uproarious laughter). And then…..

“I’m sorry, I know he lost his eye in war or whatever.”

So he knew this anyway, but hey – funny!!!

    Civility. Unity. Healing divisions.

And now the MSM has got the story… and look how they cover it.

    …”sparks conservative backlash”….

Of course. This is what has come to be called the “Republicans Pounce” MSM move, whereby the narrative focus is deflected away from the original story that might be bad for Democrats and the Left in general – to being all about the Right’s reaction and talking about that.

Another double standard is that if this had been some FOX piece mocking some fat, hairy female Democrat, the next day every GOP candidate would get asked about it and how awful it is for the GOP – whereas here the Democrat candidates will be largely ignored and if anybody presses the issue the response will be, It’s SNL, nothing to do with us

    Clever MSM.

Who knows what will happen on Tuesday in the US but most pundits expect a Republican Senate and Democrat House. We will see. They have been wrong before.

Glad you’re enjoying the double standards, Griff. It’s one of the reasons ACT was destroyed here and the Nats are tits when they’re in government.
