  1. If any early risers wondered what was up I simply forgot to do the regular posts at the usual times this morning.

But be aware that one day things could just suddenly stop here. I could get beamed up, or I could drop dead. Even a sudden admission to hospital would cause a sudden stop here. Things should be good for a while yet, but one never knows.

As people get older they think more about their mortality. It’s folks thinking they are immortal who cause all sort of problems for everyone when they are suddenly ‘beamed up.’

Pete just laid out the inevitable fate of this blog.. for those who think we’ll still be here in 2050.

This should be interesting. i don’t know what the American ”swearing in” ritual involves, but I would love to know what these women will swear on..and whether that will be acceptable?

Wouldn’t happen often in a Muslim country..would it, Lurchy?
Then why are so many liberals lukewarm on protecting Western values and history?

Because your idea of western values and history is not quite what the rest of understand.
In fact many of us find your “values” that of a backward ignorant barbaric thug from sometime before the age of enlightenment the basis of modern western values .

‘Sharia Christianity’ isn’t a cheap shot. It is the best concise description I can think of for what you appear to want … A Christian Conservatism to match Muslim radicalism …

How do you reach that conclusion? Conservatism doesn’t need to entail Christianity. Conservatism to me is just a more severe form of socialism in some regards.

Leighton had a caller who went through a list of Democrat fruit loops in power.

1 -Keith Ellison. Muslim and alleged girlfriend abuser.
    2-. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Genuine fruitloop.

    Quote:

”She wants to abolish ICE because the agency represents the militarization of immigration enforcement, Ocasio-Cortez said. It was part of a trend, she said, of viewing and treating immigrants as criminals.

Like everyone else, I saw the news item, and I come from Wanganui so am familiar with Ratana Day. I have been there and seen what happens and my brother went every year with a Maori friend.

It’s not a case of anyone seeing the obvious, it’s a case of you repeating what everyone has already seen on the news and already knows; that Labour has handed $3,000,000 to Ratana after being told not to count on their support. I didn’t bother to watch it again and I don’t suppose that anyone else will.

So the government’s contributing $60,000 per section to provide house sites, services and possibly some infrastructure for 60 sections? Big deal?

Actually it sounds like a pretty good deal for housing maybe 250 – 350 people …

Aren’t Righties complaining about them doing a whole lot worse than that with Kiwibuild?

And, of course, as you are perhaps alluding to, it’s an ‘election’ or loyalty bribe for Labour’s traditional Ratana voting base …

A well-meaning, positive outcome, strategic, selective election bribe, which look’s like a lot better value than, for instance, National trying to bribe the general population of 2 whole electorates – Northland & Whangarei – with a fantasyland, pipe dream, un-costed four lane motorway estimated to eventually cost at least $10 billion …

He kept saying that he’d read a summary, then changed it to the whole thing.

Interesting issue at the end of Question 2 today where Gerry Brownlee raises a point whether what happened yesterday is reasonable of the Minister of Immigration.

Yesterday Iain Lees-Galloway, a government minister, he notes, flatly refused to answer a whole series of supplementary questions about Mr Sroubek,in The House – and then Winston Peters, another government minister, went out after Question Time “onto the tiles” and answered those same questions to the MEDIA as being in the public interest.

Trev is not happy (“If that was the case, it DOES cheapen The House”) – but he does nothing about it at this point.
