There are about 6300 children currently in state care. This is the story of two of them, Gabriel (F) & Jesse.

  2. That is quite out of date. Petrol prices flirty with $2.50 briefly, but are now closer to $2.10 and with discounts you can fill up forn less than $2.00 a litre (here in Dunedin anyway and we are usually not the cheapest).

I don’t know whether the ‘fomenting happy mischief’ label is still on Kiwiblog. It had the sort of, “I was just playing around, having fun,” sentiment from someone bullying.

Suggestions for a 2018 update would likely include things like “Telling it like it is,” from fans while from the other side, “Telling it like we want you to think it is by using a bit of bullshit and a helluva lot of misrepresentation.”

Life is good in NZ – and steady as she goes:

“Essentially, New Zealand’s Gini index of inequality has remained lower than most other OECD countries and scored in the low 0.30 – 0.35 range for about 25+ years. It isn’t worsening.

Therefore, the proposition is that most household’s are accessing a fair share of the national income, and that inequality isn’t worsening from a level that is good by OECD standards.

Yes, it has been another good year, one worth celebrating.”

New Shub had Louisa Wall wanting to ban smoking in homes. I would think that this would be totally unworkable. How would it be policed ?

Yes, I have read everything by George Orwell…I had read the obvious ones like Animal Farm and 1984 (read them while I was at school) and when I lived in Belgium, I found that someone had donated all/most of his works to the library. I read them all and now own them all. No, not the same copies.

I thought better of Louisa Wall,
