Big bad news for the trumpconomy:

Wall Street stocks fell in volatile trading on Friday, with the Nasdaq, Dow and S&P 500 on pace for their worst month since 2009.

After another day of highly volatile trading the tech-heavy Nasdaq sank to a 15-month low, falling as much as 21.5% from its 29 August high. The benchmark S&P 500 index, already on pace for its biggest percentage decline in December since the Great Depression, hit its lowest level since August 2017. The Dow Industrials fell to the lowest level since October 2017.

    Update on the Gatwick chaos:

Gatwick reopened yesterday, however, around 5pm it was closed again for about an hour after a drone was seen, with a spokesman from Gatwick stating that military measures taken being successful, though it is unclear if they jammed the frequency of the drone or brought it down.

Later in the evening two suspects, one man and one woman, were arrested on charges of illegal drone activity.

A man a woman arrested and they’re still looking for more. This doesn’t seem like some prank to me. I hope we’ll find out more about these two soon.

I don’t think the police or transport authorities thought it was a prank, the reporting has indicated that they have always thought it was deliberate due to the pattern of the incursions by the Drone, from timing to the frequency.

A man was seen by a motorist yesterday in a hi vis vest stuffing something that looked like a drone into a backpack and escaping on a bike (I suspect the hi vis vest was just safety gear for cycling and not connected to any work).

Early on they were looking into environmental activists, and believed it was either one – or several – environmentalists. This would tie in with recent disruptive behaviour by an environmentalist group who have stated they aim to use civil disobedience to cause disruption, however, up until now it has just been blocking bridges in London, so it will be interesting if the drone pilots are connected to this group. Yesterday the group forced the HQ of BBC in London into Lock Down with a protest outside the building.

Also, it has been reported that drones sold in the UK are sold with software to prevent them flying near airports and military bases, which means the person doing this would have had to hack the software to override it, or built their own.

Well if it’s environmentalists they’re scored themselves a massive own goal. The whole world hates them.

Indeed. The police today are apparently also looking into them being activists who are against deportations, not sure if any deportations were scheduled, but it could be their way to stop the flights.

If they are trying to stop deportation flights it shows how incredibly arrogant they are – not to mention intransigent in their views. They have learned nothing from the last one that received high media interest when a plane load of people congratulated themselves on stopping the deportation of a recidivist rapist and violent individual.

The Telegraph has named them. No clue on motivation yet.
