NZH…’Infometrics economist Paul Barkle says that while Auckland house prices have stagnated for close to two years they are set for an almost 10 per cent jump next year followed by sustained increases through to mid-2022.’

so many economists with different views.

She looks like a woman to me, just a rather weather-beaten one like my ex’s and my friend Jane who used to be John.

Does she make fists & kick things over in shops when she gets angry?

She didn’t when I knew her. Because she didn’t wear makeup and try to look girly, she was convincing as a woman, a rather weather-beaten one as I said. Well, she had been a sailor.

I remember when that policeman became a policewoman. He was quite a blokey looking bloke, but she was a really attractive woman; I remember what a lovely smile she had.

The only thing that tends to give them away is the walk. It’s amazing how distinctive that is and how hard it is to change.

Well the “maam” in that shop pretty obviously had a lot of testosterone pumped out during that performance.

Some women can be very aggressive and bad-tempered, especially er, at some times.

A man on 3 news has just patted an eel on the head. !!! Eely stuck his head out and the man gave it a little rub and gentle scratch.

Well, I do that too, but I prefer to use a stick. Their eyesight’s not the best! If you look at yesterday’s video again you’ll see me giving Granville a little stroke or two. I’m just back up from feeding him again and I did the same thing tonight. I always give Elvira and Granville a little pat good-bye. They are beginning to get it that a couple of gentle, affectionate strokes is different from a tap to get them to back up for food.

@Kitty, how far along in 3news did the man pat the eel? I’d like to see that. I can check it out on 3news on demand, but I’d prefer not to have to suffer through the whole programme.

Probably about halfway, because it wasn’t really headline news. It was a story about a bar/caff/possumskin place that may have to close.

Yes, I found it. It was about halfway through. I wouldn’t call that giving the eel a pat on the head.

It was a big eel, but smaller than my girl Elvira – and if you watch that video clip again, he gave it a quick tap and whipped his hand away from danger straight away. 😀

I’d happily do that to Elvira, but I’d rather give her a decent little rub or two with the feeding stick. She seems to like it.

              I wasn’t expecting it, so wasn’t sure whether he patted or scratched…if I’d known, I’d have had a better look ! 😀

Bumblebees are lovely to stroke, and they really seem to like it.

    Life Hacks With Corky.

Here’s something that seems counter intuitive, but has worked for me over the last four years after I noticed this trend.

When buying any product from the States, it’s best to do so between Xmas and New Year.
Seems everyone at customs is pissed and just wants to move things on quickly so they can get back to relaxing. And another other reason probably is everyone else has sent their mail pre Xmas.

Something that usually takes 3-4 weeks to arrive, reduces to 4 to 7 days over the Xmas break. And that’s using the economy post option.

My latest parcel track shows it left Jamaica Mail Centre NY three days ago; on to JFK yesterday, and in transit to NZ today. Delivery Monday or Tuesday.. if the comrades don’t strike.

My Memory Stick Micro M2 ordered yesterday from eBay is due to be delivered between Jan 10 – Feb 12? Hopefully it will be faster.

If my experience is anything to go by, it should arrive much sooner. I don’t know whether
buying from eBay changes things. It will be interesting to see how long delivery takes.

You should always read Dave Barry’s Year in Review. Sample classics:

    JANUARY
In non-sh*thole news, the residents of Hawaii experience an exciting Saturday morning when they receive the following message on their phones from the state’s Emergency Management Agency: “BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”

Hawaii’s governor, David Ige, is quickly informed that it’s a false alarm, but 17 extremely tense minutes go by before he gets the word out on social media. Asked later about the delay, he says — we are not making this quote up — “I have to confess that I don’t know my Twitter account log-ons and the passwords.”

This statement arouses powerful feelings of longing among high-level Trump advisers.
