  1. One reason for trump to be getting grumpy.

He calls it harassment, others might call it holding to account. If Trump has done nothing wrong as he claims he should have nothing to fear, he should ignore it and concentrate on getting things done., but he seems easily distracted.

Clearly, they already know the Mueller investigation is going to come up empty, so now they will pour all their energy into dozens of new ‘investigations’.

Has any previous President been ‘investigated’ when there has been no crime?

        I know its hard Dave.
It is best to engage in the real world once in a while.
The Mueller ivesteragtion will not come up empty.
For the simple reason it has already had guilty pleas for charges laid.
I know from your previous comments they have nothing to do with Russia
[Deleted – argue the issue, don’t make personal assertions – PG]
lying to investigators about contact with Russia has a connection with Russia.

Contact is not collusion. How many years should Mueller be allowed to run his witch hunt? Has he beaten McCarthy’s search for Reds under the bed?

Alan the Republicans spent over 40 million dollars on multiple investigations of Hillary Clinton over a period of years .
            Number of charges that resulted.
            ZERO.
That is the standard you need to call an investigation a witch hunt.
            Mueller ?
His investigation has confiscated much more proceeds from illegal acts than it has cost.
            Over twenty indictments.
            Five guilty pleas already.
Including Trumps campaign chair, his foreign adviser and his personal lawyer .
His personal lawyer has already named trump as a co conspirator in a illegal act he pleaded guilty to .

That is not a witch hunt its a turkey shoot.

Ruined a whole bunch of lives for no reason but partisan political gain. A vile piece of crap just like McCarthy.

@Alan if you break the law you can’t complain if the law catches up with you. The people caught up so far have enjoyed any benefits of their actions but now they are suffering the consequences. You would be a advocate of people taking responsibility for their actions?

It’s going to be all out political war between and within the US government institutions next year then, egged on by their media. Lots of collateral damage.

Aljazeera tv showed video from a British fishing boat of a group of illegal migrants in an overloaded rubber dinghy with an outboard motor attempting the crossing last night. The boat was being swamped but they were bailing & refused help. Just wanted water, which the skipper supplied.

His main concern was that they were crossing the busiest shipping lane in the world in the middle of a moonless night with no lights & his radar was showing there were 5 large vessels in the area at the time. They’d run right over this boat & not even know it.

The reporter said what’s driving this surge is the traffickers are telling the migrants once Brexit happens they won’t be able to get asylum in the UK.

    https://edition.cnn.com/2018/12/27/health/drug-use-san-francisco-streets/index.html

Outside the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in downtown San Francisco, a woman urinates on the sidewalk and smokes a crack pipe.

Inside her purse are about a dozen used heroin needles. She shoots heroin up to 10 times per day, she says.

About 50 yards away, a man injects another woman in the neck with a needle. She puts her thumb in her mouth and blows on it to make her vein more visible. Her right arm is caked with dried blood.

This San Francisco neighborhood is home to the headquarters of Uber, Twitter and Salesforce. But stroll around here, and you’re also likely to find used drug paraphernalia, trash, and human excrement on the sidewalks, and people lying in various states of consciousness.

Public drug usage and homelessness are not new problems for the city of San Francisco. But residents say the situation has gotten worse in recent years. As of October, 7,500 complaints about discarded needles have been made this year, compared with 6,363 last year. In 2015, the number was less than 3,000.

More here, complete with Tweeted photos by restaurant owners.

I have to say I have no sympathy for the business owners, as I don’t for Wellingtonians here complaining about their bureaucracy. In SF, they’ll still vote Democrat every single day. I see the new Mayor is determined to spend more money on SF homelessness. So if you’re homeless in CA or any nearby state, head for SF, as thousands of others have done already.

I think this last Tweet photo really sums it up, in that it’s not really about drugs or homelessness but something more fundamental.

MORE San Francisco goodness, Cafe Owner In SF Told To Get Out. Let’s see now:
    Gay? – tick
Intern in the Obama White House – tick
Worked on Barack Obama’s reelection campaign – tick
Served as Silicon Valley fundraising director for Hillary Clinton campaign – tick.

But even all this could not save him because:
    Supports Israel – tick

on Wednesday, protesters associated with the Lucy Parsons Project, a self-described “radical black queer direction action group,” joined other groups to yell Yekutiel was a “Zionist gentrifer,” and “Zionists out of the Mission!”

They’re protesting in front of the cafe/bookshop every day now and their Twitter support is growing rapidly.

He’ll still never vote Republican though so the Democrats need not worry.

A touch of humour from the dour Mr Peter Hitchens, who has brother’s passion and writing skills but not alas, his joyousness in combat, as he writes of President Trump inspecting a parade alongside the Queen of England, Trump in Britan:

Somehow it went mildly but definitely wrong, with Mr. Trump first surging ahead of Her Majesty, then halting unexpectedly to gaze at the assembled Coldstream Guards, as they sweated frightfully in their scarlet tunics and bearskin hats.

The tiny 92-year-old monarch, who spends large parts of such visits concealing a keen sense of the ridiculous behind a mild frown, could be seen peering around her towering, bulky, and clumsy guest, trying to work out which way he might veer next. There was, it seemed to me, a slight but real danger that, if she miscalculated, he could knock her down, even trip over her.

She looked as if she was assessing a large and rare marsupial, not exactly dangerous but skittish and unpredictable, with which she had just been presented by a loyal tribe of subjects. You could almost see her thinking, “What does one do with this? What does it eat? Will it be noisy?”

We were all very proud of her.
