We heard these guys last time they were in the country and are going on their January return. In a small space with a couple of hundred people it was a good night out.

Alex is doing a good job looking after his new pooklet sibling but he needs a bit of guidance in the grooming department. Typical teenager, a bit untidy.

Soz – that’s Bluey, showing him the ropes for washing pook clothes.

He’s very thorough. I hope that he doesn’t wash all the colour out

And they all let me watch them wombling around without making the “get under cover” noise.

I’m not allowed near them though. They all came and got some wheat and bread chunks off me while I was down at the Eel Spot feeding Elvira & Granville (briefly, he got the bum’s rush from Elvie again). That’s when I first noticed there were two pooklets. But I had to do a bit of bush beating with the Eel Feeding Stick when I came up because the path took me near to where they are and Bluey came at me, as usual. He’s very protective, I have to be careful with him when they’ve got babies.

But then they all let me watch them feed the 3 of them from up top, over my fence. With a bit of luck, all the kids will allowed up to the pook promenade soon & I might get some close-ups. I think the eldest (by maybe a day or two) is a girl.

Yes, there’s actually 3 little black fluffies and white beaks at the end there but the video’s gone blurry when it was stabilised, drat it. If you put the damn thing on full zoom it loses definition. I should try less zoom and enlarging it in a movie making app, see if that improves definition. They were all running around in the open several times but by the time I get the camera on them they often get lost behind the foliage because they’re so small. They’re ever so cute.
