/ 24th January 2019Giuliani was just on radio. Trump was also on briefly.
Not only are they demonstrating what the cartoon suggests but it seems they are doing the same to the sorts of offices they are in and the credibility of those of civic leadership and those in it.
While it mightn’t be genuine to represent those as perfect, destroying the base of community trust and faith in a vital base of our, their societal organisation will harm a lot more than it will advantage. Trump and Guiliani of course don’t care about that.

/ 24th January 2019Trump feeds the masses turning 300 hamburgers into over a 1000 hamberders. Why hamburgers, because the White House kitchen is closed because of the partial shutdown.

/ 24th January 201976 people eating 300 hamberders is just credible; that’s 4 each (in round figures)
1000 means 13 each.

are democratic elections out of vogue these …days?
Pink David
/ 24th January 2019“are democratic elections out of vogue these …days?”
Perhaps when millions are fleeing, people are starving, and the Russian bombers are parking up, it’s not quite as democratic as you might think.
Gezza
/ 24th January 2019Trump needs another distraction. Where are the US aircraft carriers at the moment?
Pink David
/ 24th January 2019Very nice for Mr Morales to provide him a slave-state to distract with.

/ 24th January 2019Stirring stuff. Did he start singing the internationale after?
Gezza
/ 24th January 2019Certainly is! WTF is Trump thinking ? Stirring things up like that ?
No, don’t answer that; The Donald’s not really noted for actually thinking before twittering these days.
I think he probably sang “America America my country is for … ” and then didn’t know the rest of the words so tweeted something else ?
Gezza
/ 24th January 2019Spotted that opening and went for it, Pink.
I win again ! 🏆
(Don’t feel bad; Sir Alan gets gazumped like this all the time !)
Pink David
/ 24th January 2019I think you will find it’s mostly the Venezuelans themselves stirring it up.

/ 24th January 2019I’ll see your pearl-clutching Cult-45 blather, and raise you a morally-bankrupt-AND-impeachable stack of trump-suborns-perjury:
“there’s no reason to doubt that Trump has, in fact, repeatedly instructed subordinates to tell lies to Congress and law enforcement authorities, including lies that amount to crimes. The difference is that the media outlets that reported those other cases didn’t say, explicitly, that the president “directed” his aides to lie. Another important difference is the way in which Trump gets his subordinates to lie, which has served to delay the moment when we all admit that he is quite clearly suborning perjury.”

Have the police charged Phil yet or is he going to get off because of who he’s married to?
What’s the guts?
Kitty Catkin
/ 24th January 2019He’s not above the law. Nobody is.
He’s ‘loath to give up driving’. I daresay that he is, but other people are loath to give up not being hit by an old fool who ignores stop signs.
Griff.
/ 24th January 2019Ummm technically his wife is .
Kitty Catkin
/ 24th January 2019In some things; she can’t be forced to be a witness, for example. But if she murdered someone, she might not be.
Griff.
/ 24th January 2019Note the qualifier.
I hope it would never come to finding out but technically she can not be charged with a crime as all English law is on the queens own authority.
Same here in NZ different sovereign authority ours is QEII NZ but the title is held by the same person Elizabeth of Windsor.
Kitty Catkin
/ 24th January 2019Charles I was.
I read that it was treason to ‘even consider’ killingor overthrowing the sovereign, but really, I can’t see how anyone would KNOW.
Missy
/ 24th January 2019Kitty, you seem to know more about what happened than the police to be able to make such judgements before the investigation has been concluded and evidence assessed and passed to CPS if required. Have you passed your information to the Norfolk police?
Kitty Catkin
/ 24th January 2019What information ? They will know that he’s not above the law. They’ll know that he went past a stop sign that he must have known was there and didn’t stop; there were witnesses.
It’s obvious that he doesn’t want to stop driving or he would have done.
Missy
/ 24th January 2019They haven’t completed their investigation to my knowledge. Also there is now speculation around the actual speed of the other car. If he isn’t charged it won’t be because of who he is married to, especially if it is shown that he was blind s by the sun.
The police have been warning for years the danger the sun poses to drivers on that stretch of road, this isn’t the first accident that has happened there due to sunstrike, and none of the others were charged. This one only made the media because of who it was, and has only remained in the media because of the greed of the woman in the other car pumping her story to anyone who will pay.
Most people only want him charged because of bigotry against his age, they don’t care about the facts or evidence.
Kitty Catkin
/ 24th January 2019I doubt that it’s bigotry, it’s common sense. Old and doddery drivers are over represented in crashes.
.Being blinded by the sun is no excuse for ignoring a stop sign and going onto a busy road without looking, and if the police have been saying it for years, there’s even less excuse. Driving with no seatbelt is also illegal. Not stopping at a stop sign is illegal; there’d be no point in having them, otherwise. They’re like red lights.
How much has the victim made ? Do you know that she’s made anything?
Kitty Catkin
/ 24th January 2019If you were hit by someone who ignored a stop sign that they must have seen hundreds of times, would you make excuses for them ?
Corky
/ 24th January 2019Thanks for that, Missy. I think only Gezza asked the question: Was the prince guilty?

I hadn’t heard about them marching down the road, cursing each other. Just how many ARE there ?

Trump postpones State of Union address until shutdown is over

US president criticises House leader Nancy Pelosi for withdrawing a previous invitation to deliver the address
US President Donald Trump said in a late-night Tweet on Wednesday that he would wait until the government shutdown was over to deliver a State of the Union address from the House of Representatives.
Trump also criticised House leader Nancy Pelosi for withdrawing a previous invitation to deliver the address.
The House Speaker said she changed her mind because of the shutdown, which has lasted more than a month and affected 800,000 federal workers.
“This is her prerogative – I will do the Address when the Shutdown is over. I am not looking for an alternative venue for the SOTU Address because there is no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber,” the president said in the tweet.
…
Before the plan was officially announced, Democrats decried it as “unacceptable” and “inadequate”, calling it “a compilation of several previously rejected initiatives”.
Conducted between January 18 and 22, a Politico/Morning Consult poll found that only seven percent of voters support “dedicating funding to a border wall if it was the only way to end the government shutdown”.
