This post is open to anyone to comment on any topic that isn’t spam, illegal or offensive. All Your NZ posts are open but this one is for you to raise topics that interest you, or you think may interest others..

If providing opinions on or summaries of other information also provide a link to that information. Bloggers are welcome to summarise and link to their posts. Comments worth more exposure may be repeated as posts. Comments from other forums can be repeated here, cut and paste is fine.

Your NZ is a mostly political and social issues blog but not limited to that, and views from anywhere on the political spectrum are welcome. Some ground rules:

  • If possible support arguments, news, points or opinions with links to sources and facts.
  • Please don’t post anything illegal, potentially defamatory or abusive.

FIRST TIME COMMENTERS: Due to abuse by a few, first comments under any ID will park in moderation until released (as soon as possible but it can sometimes take a while).

Sometimes comments will go into moderation or spam automatically due to mistyped ID, too many links (>4), or trigger text or other at risk criteria. If they pass muster they will be released as soon as possible (it can sometimes take hours).

[Deleted. Repeating accusations here that you say deserve court action put this site at risk of court action if you are right. This is one reason why you have to remain moderated. PG]

How do you work that out? Have you polled council members on their political affiliations?

We know that Queenstown is an enclave of socialists and the mayor is as red as raspberry …jam.

Your perceptions may be a little off, Blazer. 1+1 does not equal three.

    Any predictions?

I’d say National comfortably ahead of Labour, Greens/ NZL First under 5% & Collins ahead of Bridges in terms of preferred PM.

Given Jonsey’s largesse, Labour cannot afford a poor poll result. Neither can Simon for that matter.

polls are for idiots and any way who cares the election is next year.
One news and news hub are propaganda for idiots.

You’ll be keenly watching the poll results live on Newshub then?

Your predictions match your personal wish list perfectly PDB … Who ever would have guessed?

      National & Labour neck-and-neck

NZFirst unchanged … Greens down slightly …

And yeah … Collins may be ahead of Bridges … Who cares … either will lose the next election.

I wasn’t too bad PZ – had the National/Labour result wrong as I should have taken into account the exposure Ardern has had of late, especially internationally, and the fact her govt hasn’t really been the focus without parliament sitting and everybody on holiday.

I don’t expect Labour to stay that high for long unless Bridges keeps going as poorly as he has.

Imagine this.🤔 The leader of the National Party releases a press statement saying he won’t be attending the Big Gay Out because it’s of no interest to him or the party.

The Statement goes on to say National will never discriminate against gays, and wishes them all the best with their celebrations. But given most members are straight it’s not something that interests them or the National Party.

Ditto the Ratana Pa Kow Towing.

Timed right – and given many long suffering ordinary folk are over this bs- it could sweep National to power as a one party government. Nearly worked for Don Brash.

Social media would go ABSOLUTELY BERSERK, LIBERALS WOULD GO CRAZY. Their comments would become more bizarre by the moment. They would self destruct.

Ah, but dreams are free. Instead we have this.

To much projection there Corks .
Liberals wont go crazy ….conservatives are already crazy.
Elections are won in the middle not at the nutty extremes.
If Simon done what you want he would lose votes.*
      Oh and Corky .
It is rude to shout .
It makes you look even more of a nutbar*.

*These statements are both debatable…. is it really possible for Corky to look more like a nutbar or for Simon to lose more support?

I have considered you critique, Griff. As usual you had 1 chance in 100..and you missed.. again.

But that’s OK..you aren’t a deep thinker – very lightweight. In fact any fool could see such a course of action is a last resort.

You may remember how Labour came to power. I was begging them on this blog to change their leader. I was told I was an idiot, no one changes leaders that close to an election.
Well, Einstein, they changed leaders and their fortune.

I have consider your objection to me shouting. Given the Cap Lock is on the blink, your objection is denied.

As for other parts of your rant..😃

I think this imagination suggestion is excellent. It’s not far fetched at all. Would you express this on other sites? All it takes for a good turn around is a few strong minds standing ground.

I think this imagination suggestion is excellent. It’s not far fetched at all.

Says the woman who believes a teen magically got pregnant by god and gave birth to gods son also god who then was killed by his father god to appease the one true god for all the sins of man.
As well as this god the son who is the only true god but not god the father is not dead anyway.
Not exactly what I would call a reliable reference for what is not far fetched . .

RNZ: “The waiting-list for state houses has reached an all-time high – soaring by 63 percent since the Labour-led government took office.”

Raising expectations to unrealistic levels & then woefully underdelivering is the Coalition govt’s mantra.
