Jacinda Ardern’s post Cabinet press conference yesterday. 25 min.

    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12202811

From memory -mostly about her schedule this week (Opening of Parliament, attendances at various events; the Nelson fires – Kris Faafoi gets a prominent role – I found it kind of odd that our PM takes it upon herself to personally give instructions to those affected at various times, but maybe John Key did the same kind of thing, I don’t remember; and the Chinese refusing that Air NZ flight landing permission – administrative error by Air NZ, nothing more).

It’s interesting in this one how Jacinda’s face emanates a godlike radiance throughout. Might be the camera angle, or it might just be saintliness. Hard to know.

The Herald seems to post all of Jacinda’s post cab pressers live & to embed the full video so you can view them afterwards. I don’t recall them doing this for John Key or English but I find these interesting whenever I’ve had a spare half hour to watch the range of questions raised & how she answers them.

Sometimes there’s more of interest in those than just the bits the msm chooses to pick out for the nightly tv new. There’s usually a couple of really dumb questions per session but unfortunately I can’t always identify who the asker is. My working assumption is that it’s someone from tv1 or tv3. When it’s Baz Soper his voice is easy enuf to recognise.

Hooten finally gets something right…tip of the iceberg for the shameless Nats…

‘And so ends one of the most dodgy affairs in the history of NZ politics. In any other western country there would’ve been resignations and probably arrests. But as we keep telling ourselves, there’s no corruption in NZ. If a kiwi does it, it’s not corrupt. ‘

He’s been saying that since day one, as were many other National leaning people. McCully was not a popular figure, but probably knows where the bodies are buried…
