“The options include a disorderly Brexit,
a delay to Brexit or no #Brexit at all”.
The options also include a “we respect the democratic vote”
    and duly withdraw from Brexit.
To not withdraw as per the majority vote is to destroy
    the entire British democratic foundation.
The remainer’s were too complacent and just have to suck the defeat up.
Setting a precedent allowing the overturning of any democratic vote
in the future means they might as well just declare anarchy.

      Apply that to Trump’s election.

The wall was not a referendum issue. Perhaps Mr Trump should put the issue to the USA citizens like Brexit was put to UK citizens. What is your view on a wall referendum in the USA?

no need for a referendum – poll after poll after poll show shows that American voters are 2-1 against wall funding.

Even Republicans in the House AND Senate voted against funding his wall.

According to the polls Brexit was going to be defeated.
National had a substantial poll lead over Labour and won more seats
but polls did not take into account waka jumper Peters.
Polls can only tell you so much.
Love to see a wall vote in the USA.

        Yes lets
        trump lost the popular vote
So no majorly support for any of his policy platform.
The electoral collage is not the electorate and would not be who you ask in a referendum.

The American constitution is set up to allow the other branches of goverment the ability to stop what trump is doing.
He is not a king with unbridled power no matter what trumpets claim.

Got a reference for where this claim has been made?

Not the issue, Griff. Trump was constitutionally elected and his opponents have been trying to overturn that result ever since.

The constitution was set up to ensure populous states like California and New York cannot dominate the rest.

“Amazon is a trillion dollar company, but they pay $0 in taxes.”

Of course not. They don’t make any money. All their profits go to their workers and customers.

If all their profits go to their workers why do their workers need food stamps and other welfare?

And if it does make a profit why is it still in business and why is it worth a trillion dollars?

  7. Prosecutors said for the first time that they have evidence of Roger Stone communicating with WikiLeaks, according to a new court filing from special counsel prosecutors.

During its investigation of the Russian hack of the Democrats, “the government obtained and executed dozens of search warrants on various accounts used to facilitate the transfer of stolen documents for release, as well as to discuss the timing and promotion of their release,” the prosecutors wrote Friday to a federal judge.
“Several of those search warrants were executed on accounts that contained Stone’s communications with Guccifer 2.0 and with Organization 1,” which is WikiLeaks.

Amazing that you folk don’t see the connection here. And it’s a bi-partisan thing; wIthout cheap, easily-fired illegal aliens, California’s agricultural economy would be seeing some serious price increases.

      Screw those libtards Eh …
Having trouble connected the dots are we?
      Here I will help .
California supplies something like 80% of all fresh fruit and veg in the USA. Even Trumptards will be paying more for food. Trump will be forking out more to get the lawns mowed and beds made at his resort.
His tariffs are a tax on the end user in the USA. Manufactures like John deer are hurting paying more for raw materials and selling less domestically .His trade war has killed the soy industry big time. Offshore growers have taken the china market and it will not be coming back. Real sad for flyover country as thats a large proportion of their agricultural industry screwed.
Then you have his claim to bring back coal .
2018 was a record year for coal plant closures in the USA Another two coal plants announced closures today.

Yum yum yum Dead Rats go down sooo well with a good covering of bullshite sauce……

Given the points being made, it’s worth me re-posting this from the other thread on Trump’s wall..

Bernie Sanders: Open borders? No, that’s a Koch brothers proposal.
    Ezra Klein: Really?
Bernie Sanders: Of course. That’s a right-wing proposal, which says essentially there is no United States. …
You know what youth unemployment is in the United States of America today? If you’re a white high school graduate, it’s 33 percent, Hispanic 36 percent, African American 51 percent. You think we should open the borders and bring in a lot of low-wage workers, or do you think maybe we should try to get jobs for those kids.

A lot of Democrats agreed with that traditional Socialist message, which was one reason why Bernie was so popular and Hillary and others hedged on the whole question of illegal aliens and border security. And that issue has not gone away, just another fracture inside the Democrats as it fights with modern Identity Politics.
