Media Watch is a focus on New Zealand media, blogs and social media. You can post any items of interested related to media.

A primary aim here is to hold media to account in the political arena. A credible and questioning media is an essential part of a healthy democracy.

A general guideline – post opinion on or excerpts from and links to blog posts or comments of interest, whether they are praise, criticism, pointing out issues or sharing useful information.

      Kermadecs? Major point of disagreement between co-leaders I suspect. The Greens really cocked that one up.

      What about the abuse of male journalists ?

      Really, as women we are in such constant danger in the workplace that perhaps we ought not to be there at all.

      I don’t think that anyone says, thinks or means that only white/white abuse matters ! Some people read far too much into things and set up straw men as a result.

      I heard today that the Captain Marvel film will ’empower’ girls and young women. As most people don’t live in that sort of world, I can’t see how. It seems to glorify violence, apart from anything else, and anyone who can’t see that much of the action is ‘SFX’ must be pretty thick.

        I do hate the idea that women are almost by definition victims, and that it’s sheer chance if we are not.
