Media Watch is a focus on New Zealand media, blogs and social media. You can post any items of interested related to media.

A primary aim here is to hold media to account in the political arena. A credible and questioning media is an essential part of a healthy democracy.

A general guideline – post opinion on or excerpts from and links to blog posts or comments of interest, whether they are praise, criticism, pointing out issues or sharing useful information.

        Or suck them, as one had to do the old slot machine Nestles choccy. One would last from Dover to London; biting them was like biting wood.

      Yep. They’ll price themselves out of the market eventually. End up giving supercarriers as surplus to their police and security agencies.

    There was an interesting article about police chases in the Herald. Roughly one death for every 400 chases, which is less than I thought.(79 for 30,000 chases) One motorcyclist was going 190 !!! and went through a red light at 120, hitting a car. I think that the cop had stopped the chase by then, but was following. The driver was unhurt, and when the cop saw what was left of the motorbike and asked where the rider was, the driver said ‘Down there.’ He was 30m away, having been flung that far.
