I wish Duncan Garner would SHUT UP when he interviews and overtalks people ie Simon 5% Bridges .2 people talking at once is annoying as neither is achieving anything.

PG I was reading a post you wrote on TrueBlueNZ and redbaiter online as I’m interested to see wheres Kiwiblogs followers have migrated to.His numbers were less than 200 yesterday but it was refreshing to have no abusive posts of the PM,which must have culled at least 200 people.I think someone with real power must have whispered in his ear and said rein in the hate merchants
ps you redbaiter post is an excellent bit of writing

Starting to get angsty now. Turned on the news. John Campbell telling us the national call to prayer was a repudiation of Islamophobia. Indeed it was..it was also a repudiation of who we are as a culture. I don’t think John thought of that. Next, on to Three News. I just wanted sport results. Instead they were interviewing some chap, the original instigator of the ”Crusader’ name for their rugby franchise. He was suitably maungy and contrite at the same time so as to be acceptable to liberals and boofheads. Gave TV a rest for the moment. Practised Tears In The Rain on my guitar. Turned TV 1 on again and was greeted by Sonny Bill telling us about himself as a Muslim. That was followed a while later by Miriama Kamo speaking Maori.

Sanity was finally restored by Country Calendar. Two Maori sheilas making a go of life farming their grandfathers land on the East Coast. So simple. No angst whatsoever. A little like this austere musical masterpiece.

      Drivel.

We don’t have a culture of Islamophobia. We are mostly inclusive, except for the bigoted and ignorant who are too meanspirited to accept that the massacre of 50 people deserves a little respect.

If you can’t show the victims respect, say nothing.

You can tell when a section of the media, an office (Governor General),
a position. a fishing resource. a business an anything is near dead.
That’s when minorities are allowed on because it’s worthless to the majority.
TV is a near dead medium just a few old farts watch it now
most people have cut the cord so that’s the only reason why minorities now feature.
It also means when the medium/position/ fishing resource fails
the majority can blame the minority.

‘“New research reveals tax dodgers are ripping off the country at up to 150 times the rate of welfare fraudsters, but are being jailed much less often. Last year, tax evaders cheated the country of between $1 and $6 billion, while welfare fraud cost $39 million.” Excerpted from a post on The Standard July 18 2017 titled “Benefit fraud vs white collar crime.”

In 2018 IRD reported that it was owed $3 billion in unpaid taxes, with $1.7 billion owed for more than three years.

False equivalency though Blazer – income tax dodging is paying less of the money that you earned than required to the thieving government. (GST or PAYE are different.)
Welfare dodgers are thieving other people’s money for themselves.
Both are wrong, but one is worse.

In Blazer’s (The Standard’s) world a working person paying tax but avoiding some of their tax obligations is far, far worse than a person not working & paying no tax who claims more taxpayer money than they are entitled to.

It’s not my default position at all. It was written to portray the mindset of the tax evader.
Tax avoidance is perfectly legal. Setting up your affairs so as you pay the minimum tax required by law is the right of all citizens.
Tax evasion is illegal and wrong. But theft of other people’s money by beneficiaries or those pretending to be so are worse.
          – Tax evaders do so by acts of omission.
          – Beneficiary fraudsters steal by acts of commission.
          – To evade tax you have to earn the money first.
          – To defraud the state you are simply taking what does not belong to you.
          – Tax evaders generally pay some tax, but not as much as they were supposed to.
          – Welfare fraudsters simply steal other people’s money.

If you cannot see the difference in severity, there is no hope you.

Blazer got a link to provide background information on the assertion regarding unpaid taxes?

or is the assertion another blazing and flaming squirrel?

Kelvin Davis is a hero. Did anyone think to ask him if he wanted to hand in his gun?

Meanwhile Simon Bridges and David Seymour gasp for relevance. Give it away lads. You are yesterdays news. If you are lucky, Jacinda won’t make fun of you.

I think perhaps peters days as an active politician are over. Sleeping during a security briefing, at a meeting he flew overseas to attend and actually with the families of the Christchurch victims.
Either he just doesnt care and cant be bothered or just isnt up to the task of deputy PM and Foreign Minister. Ardern is finally off to China without him to clear up his dumb cuddling of the US.
