Open Forum – Tuesday

26 March 2019

This post is open to anyone to comment on any topic that isn’t spam, illegal or offensive. All Your NZ posts are open but this one is for you to raise topics that interest you, or you think may interest others..

If providing opinions on or summaries of other information also provide a link to that information. Bloggers are welcome to summarise and link to their posts. Comments worth more exposure may be repeated as posts. Comments from other forums can be repeated here, cut and paste is fine.

Your NZ is a mostly political and social issues blog but not limited to that, and views from anywhere on the political spectrum are welcome. Some ground rules:

  • If possible support arguments, news, points or opinions with links to sources and facts.
  • Please don’t post anything illegal, potentially defamatory or abusive.

FIRST TIME COMMENTERS: Due to abuse by a few, first comments under any ID will park in moderation until released (as soon as possible but it can sometimes take a while).

Sometimes comments will go into moderation or spam automatically due to mistyped ID, too many links (>4), or trigger text or other at risk criteria. If they pass muster they will be released as soon as possible (it can sometimes take hours).

Trump is probably having the best week of his presidency. ISIS defeated territoriality, No Russian collusion leaving him legitimately the most unusual President ever and this morning arch critic and porn lawyer Michael Avanatti has been arrested and charged with trying to extort 20 million from Nike in NY and in LA with accessing a clients trust fund.

Common sense means ordinary sense, not frequently found sense.

Trust you to find this negative item.

It appears David Farrar not moderating himself, here is a clear cut case of ageism…expect heaps of abuse from the loyal posters he has left towards Winston Peters

At least he still stays awake during his own speeches, Lurch. Endlessly listening to political speeches would be a fate worse than death for me.

Here’s a preview of future current affairs programming in Aotearoa. Regardless of what you think of this lady and her views, she is ridiculed and scorned. The lady next to her is utterly offended and makes no bones about showing it.

But what happens if a spokesperson is articulate and well reasoned and holds views that aren’t considered mainstream? That’s easy. They won’t be invited onto such programmes. It will be echo chamber stuff from now on, with a little easy meat thrown in for entertainment.

Being articulate and well reasoned doesn’t mean acceptable. The German system of euthanasia of those with mental disabilities was well reasoned in theory but abhorrent in practice. So was the Chinese version. A man in this town was going to be killed because of hs physical defects but was smuggled out to NZ where he grew up to be a successful businessman, father of a family and an asset to the town. The Chinese at that time couldn’t afford people who seemed as if they’d be burdens and unable to earn their keep, which meant that they had to be ruthless. Well reasoned but cruel.

If they go to the election on gun control they would get massive public support in my opinion. Especially from people in Melbourne. From quiet Australians. However, if I’m wrong, they would be gone before Pauline could say 2 Fish and a scoop, please.

Hell i dislike Justin Lester, a wet blanket…our “mayor” i live 10 minutes from Wellington and never visit the city anymore,4 months at least, Lester has ruined my city and the quicker hes moved on the better,Visit Wellington quickly before the earthquake code closes the city down or the terrorists or the cycle lanes or the Maoris…Lester just swings in the wind like a pair of dirty underpants.
