A good effort but over the top accolades

Tiger wins the Masters for fifth time

Very well done and deserved celebration, but that picture is symbolic of media reaction to one person winning one sporting event. Is it really “one of golf’s great all-time comebacks”?

Yes, I think it is one of the greatest comebacks in golf. Woods’ career has been plagued by injury and personal problems for a decade or more. To win a major again after all his problems and setbacks is impressive. And there is nothing wrong with the photo in my mind.

We’ve seen far worse over the top accolades lately, of the kind which have potential to send many people astray and to wind up those who are generally moderate.

Well deserved, it is worth noting that there has been a racist flavour to his fall from grace, so it’s great to see him back to his best.
It is only relatively recently that a black man could play at Augusta and even more recently that a white man could caddy!

Yes, the white and black community even had a problem with Tiger dating only white woman.
Black woman can’t tolerate a black man dating white women. They take offence.

All that before we even get to a black man done good..and then reverting to ”dem ole black ways.”

Now he’s back…shining like a white knight. And don’t the crowd love it. Lordy..the American way is best.

The American way isn’t pretty..but it gets results. Yes, American racism can be confronting, Blazer. Maybe you should watch Peppa Pig instead?😃

          ps- KG?

Don’t tempt fate. But I agree that it’s offensively racist and insulting to black people. I can’t imagine anyone even thinking that it was funny or acceptable to say those things.

Three black women try so hard to explain why they don’t have a problem with black men dating white woman.

The reality is it shows why successful black men ‘CAN’ sometimes have little time for black women …black women seem to have a chip on their shoulder.

Tiger is one of those men

When I read the headline “A good effort but over the top accolades” I expected to see a picture of the PM dressed up in a hijab and looking sad. At long last sanity is beginning to prevail I thought as people realise Ardern’s gesture politics is no substitute real political leadership. But no, its just a dig at Tiger. He thoroughly deserves the praise he got for a great comeback from years of adversity.

‘ no substitute real political leadership.’

hes never heard of ‘management by walking around’.
With Ardern there was the big three
        The Optics were right
        The speeches were right
        The Actions were right.

Who can forget Trumps effort at the optics by ‘ passing on toilet rolls ‘ over the heads of the media for some floods/hurricane or other the US

The mayor called Trump comments abominable

Very negative, and it points the finger at others. Social media shows us that we don’t deserve good and lasting leaders.

Here’s for the road – Just a little trust in Jesus, just a little bit of prayer – entirely and only decided by the free individual.

Every other religion I know of, including ‘I’, leads to risky Group Think. Very unKiwi.

Not as great as Ben Hogan winning the US Golf Open a year after breaking his hip in a car accident a year before,

…or arguably Jack Nicklaus winning the 1986 Masters at the age of 46,

…and even though Tiger Woods, despite his “fall” and injury issues, still retains the mental and technical skills in his toolbox that always made it probable he would win a major again

    …yes. A great comeback.
