Did my good deed yesterday helping a female who broke her leg at the dog park after she fell on an unformed track, you can see who wants to get involved,(well there were 4 of us) and who scurries away walking fast,,
WHAT ARE THE CHANCES…all of us walking our dogs, my wife and myself and 2 separate nurses from Wellington hospital, walking their dogs hearing a female shouting “HELP HELP” up a bank in the bush

Same up here, Lurch. Who brings all the sick and injured birds to our bird rescue lady? Dog walkers.

Don’t take all the credit, Alan. As one Englishman sniffily suggested when Amundsen beat Scott to the South Pole because he chose a better means of transport, “three cheers for the dogs!” 😀

Indeed, it can be argued that the most important hero of England’s greatest sporting triumph wasn’t Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst or Bobby Charlton, but Pickles:

Sure, Kimbo, it’s often the pooch that finds the problem. My old dog Billie could smell a discarded chip packet in the bush from 20m.

Poor old Pickles dying because of a choke chain…

A friend heard someone thumping and banging on her door. It was a dog who’d been there before, being dogsat because he hated thunderstorms, and he made Pam come with him to his home two streets away. The daughter had had a major seizure. He did this again when it happened again.

“What’s that, Lassie? Your master’s daughter has had a seizure? And she’s lying incapacitated two streets away at her house?” 😀

Almost as clever as Skippy the bush kangaroo, who could drive landrovers… 😀🦘

I’m not making this up. Pam couldn’t believe it when she found that not only was the person banging on the door ‘Rover’ (not his real name) but he was coming to her for help. Especially as Rover wasn’t known for his courage and intellect.

This is frustrating, Barfoots are charging an outrageous fee for adding/changing an occupant on an existing tenancy, its a way around the good move the government made to stop letting fees being charged. I find it really really annoying the rapaciousness of this firm giving all landlords a bad name, property management is a lucrative business already.
If you are renting in Auckland or having your property managed these things should be considered.

Bugger that. I had no idea that one had to even notify anyone if a flatmate moved out and another moved in. Barfoots must be wishing the Herald anywhere.

Here’s an interesting article. The authors could just as easily be talking about science.
However, in this essay; religious fundamentalism is the focus. A little context may be needed
    though.

    Quote:

”The authors emphasize that cognitive flexibility and openness aren’t the only things that make brains vulnerable to religious fundamentalism. In fact, their analyses showed that these factors only accounted for a fifth of the variation in fundamentalism scores. ”

Could it be the effects of hundreds of years of inbreeding caused by cousin marriage. Something few in the muslim world want to talk about, but at least the saudis are starting to wake up

         /  April 19, 2019

Yes, that’s probably one of the other factors the article speaks of.

The thought flashed quickly through my mind that if they made you an offer, how much would you want to be paid for them, but I quickly dismissed it in case asking that could be misinterpreted in a negative way.

Fox News hangs up on Catholic League President for suggesting the Notre Dame Cathedral fire was suspicious even though other churches across France have been targeted.

    • Unless you have facts leave the Notre Dame conspiracy theories (actually not theories, dirty implications and lies) to Whale Oil.

    • How the far right is trying to turn Notre Dame into the next Reichstag Fire

So you listened to the Leighton Smith hate speech podcast, Hell Corky i didn’t think you were that easy swayed, that church vandalism are probably caused by a group of people sexually abused by the Catholic church, there have been thousands and blaming Muslims is what a knuckle dragging righty would do,but dig deeper, its much more enjoyable

You do well with what is available to you, Lurchy.

”Hell Corky i didn’t think you were that easy swayed, that church vandalism are probably caused by a group of people sexually abused by the Catholic church.”

That is a possibility..but highly unlikely.

”There have been thousands and blaming Muslims is what a knuckle dragging righty would do,but dig deeper, its much more enjoyable”

Well, I doubt anti-West Muslim terrorists would do it. They already have the intelligence community on their tail…why would they want more heat.. especially heat because they destroyed a world famous icon? For them there is no rush. Such land marks can be dealt to when they have more control.
