A man posted on a far-right website claiming he was inspired by the Christchurch mass murderer and then attacked people worshipping at a synagogue in San Diego in in southern California, killing one person and injuring three more, including the rabbi.

NZ Herald: PM Jacinda Ardern comments after San Diego synagogue attack

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has expressed sorrow about the attack at a synagogue in San Diego where the gunman reportedly said he had been inspired by the Christchurch massacre.

“Our hearts go out to the Jewish community,” she said through a spokeswoman.

“To see an attack while people are at worship is devastating.

“New Zealand condemns all acts of terrorism and violence and stands for freedom of religion and the right to worship safely.

“New Zealand’s resolve to drive global action to eliminate violent extremism has been strengthened by the terrorist attack on our soil on March 15.”

That’s similar to her response to the Sri Lanka bombings. It’s on the cards that some attempt will be made to attack Ardern for how she worded her response.

The synagogue shooting left one woman dead and three people, including the rabbi, injured.

NBC has reported the gunman posted a letter on a far-right website claiming to be inspired by the Christchurch gunman who murdered 50 people in two mosques on March 15.

I remember one mother sending him the message that she didn’t want thoughts and prayers, she wanted something to be done to prevent these killings.

”Thoughts and Prayers.” Not great either for combating a government rounding up citizens for internal prison camps.

Someone should have told this halfwit shooter that Jews are our friends. They provide us with support and a beachhead in the Middle East.

Beachhead? Us? You are planning on invading the Middle East? Doing this hasn’t gone so well lately.

I’m sure the Palestinians in Gaza & the West Bank would agree with your first sentence.

”Beachhead? Us? You are planning on invading the Middle East?”

It’s strategically placed for allied forces to launch attacks on any Middle Eastern country, especially given what is becoming a more fractious relationship with Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

So what? Wtf’s that got to do with us? Why do you want to be a warmonger over there?

How has invading Afghanistan worked out for the Christian Nations’ allied forces?

How has invading Iraq & interfereing in Syria & Libya worked out for the US & allied Christian Nations’ allied forces?

& all the folks back home? Has it made them safer? Are they suddenly now not nervous, constantly-surveilled, bag-checked police states?

I don’t. But given the shite hitting the fan big time, it’s almost a certain our troops will be involved in conflict. A friend in the Middle East, would be a friend indeed.

”How has invading Afghanistan worked out for the Christian Nations’ allied forces?”

I don’t think they entered that conflict with the thought of being Christians from a Christian nation.

            It hasn’t worked out.

Don’t forget you are talking to the converted. I was just talking about having a friend in the Middle East. I think you are allowing your support of Palestine to read more into my comments then was intended.

I don’t think they entered that [Afghanistan] conflict with the thought of being Christians from a Christian nation.

Tell that to the Taliban & the now many civilian victims of US air attacks. Lots of Western troops there are Christians. Probably highest among US ones, I’d imagine.

The US is currently in talks with Kabul & the Taliban about pulling out & the Taliban power-sharing in government there. An item on Al Jazeera tv showed Afghanis learning Russian. A Russian cultural centre has recently been re-opened in Kabul & Russian diplomacy there is being welcomed !

I think the Yanks thought they could waltz in, wipe out the Taliban, & be welcomed. They’ve destroyed quite a lot of the place & Trump’s not planning to rebuild it.

Are the Israelis our friends? I thought their Government shat all over us when we voted against their stealing more Palestinian land for new settlements?

@Corky some friends are more trouble than they are worth and the last place you will find Trump is on a beachhead, he will be resting his heel spurs back home sending his thoughts and prayers.

“New Zealand condemns all acts of terrorism and violence

A lie. Seventeen of your parliamentarians support the armed rebels in West Papua Indonesia who perpetrate terrorist attacks. None of those seventeen condemned them for their mass murder of civilian workers in Nduga 1/12/2018. More hypocrisy from Ardern. She gets away with it because of an uncritical media, some of whom also support the armed OPM in Indonesia.

The latest atrocity in the US, inspired by Christchurch, shows Ardern’s approach has failed to prevent attacks. It was always going to fail, the world is too connected. Image over substance. I doubt she ever cared for anyone beyond NZ borders. Dame Mouthwash.

Send NZ Police to help their counterparts in SL, step up and show some real solidarity.
