A primary aim here is to hold media to account in the political arena. A credible and questioning media is an essential part of a healthy democracy.

A general guideline – post opinion on or excerpts from and links to blog posts or comments of interest, whether they are praise, criticism, pointing out issues or sharing useful information.

      Please PG , can’t you see the flaw the headline
      David Hall is a PhD in politics so even less of a climate expert than me. Nor a psychiatrist..as usual in NZ we hear often journalists and policy mavens described as climate experts when they hardly ever can tell the difference between weather and climate

      I can’t see that ‘Proven but insane’ (which is clumsily worded; the deed is proven but the person is insane) is an improvement on the old ‘Not guilty by reason of insanity.’

      It won’t make any difference, we all know what it means and the person who was killed will be just as dead under either name. The killer will still be inside. It seems to be a case of people not understanding that not guilty doesn’t mean innocent. The insane person is not guilty IN LAW because they are not responsible for their actions.

      It’s nitpicking.
