I’m baaaack. Sorry for the absence – especially at this interesting time, regrettably personal circumstances necessitated it.

Good to see you back Missy. Posted: https://yournz.org/2019/05/22/uk-update-on-brexit/

Over the last few weeks the pressure has come on Theresa May to resign, she stubbornly refuses to resign until her Withdrawal Agreement passes.

Over the last few weeks Theresa May has had several meetings with members of the Parliamentary Parliament, most notably the 1922 Committee. What has come from these meetings is that she will resign by the end of July if her withdrawal agreement passes, though many are working on how they can force her out regardless.

Despite the possibility of her not keeping her word the leadership race has begun.

So far Esther McVey, Boris Johnson, and Rory Stewart have all declared they will run, Andrea Leadsom is considering it. Other contenders are Michael Gove, Amber Rudd, Sajid Javid, Dominic Raab, Jeremy Hunt, Penny Mordaunt, Liz Truss and Priti Patel.

There is a bit happening with regards to the EU elections on Thursday, so will update tomorrow on that. But note that it is proportional representation (preferential voting) not first past the post, which makes the polling much more significant.

At present the Brexit Party is leading in the polls with between 30%-34% (depending on the company polling), almost 10% ahead of the next highest polling party Labour, the Conservatives are polling at between 8%-11%, their lowest polling ever. Change UK, the new Remain party that has been in existence about 6 weeks longer than The Brexit Party is polling on less than 5%.

The EU elections are shaping up to be a triumph for The Brexit Party, and a complete humiliation for the Conservatives, and after today’s announcement by May this could be even worse for the Conservatives.

That works out at 1,830,000,000,000 for the entire length of the boarder.
One trillion eight hundred thirty billion dollars.
Seem like a bargain only 1/20 of the USA yearly GDP for a wall that will do little but make trumpies feel safe from the imaginary big scary monsters under the bed .
