I see in the news that there is to be another global ‘Students strike’ protesting against lack of action on Climate Change.
A seniors group (Im involved with) are also planning to attend the Dn event: 1-3pm in the city 🙂

As they are saying.. this is NOW, reaching a tipping point & we do NOT have a Planet B.. it is time for action to SAVE the only one we have !!

just got back, about an hour ago.. about 1000 attendees, mostly school kids, but also; quite a crowd of ‘we older folks too’

whilst they are often seen as ‘all noise’.. at least they are out there making it, as opposed to APATHY !

nga mihi ki a koutou 🙂

They come across as arrogant little know-alls, which may go with being that age but is not very attractive. Their assumption that older people are doing nothing is offensive and arrogant, to say the least; have they not heard of recycling initiatives and such things ? I was amazed by the enormous amount of fuel airlines are saving by using things like tablets instead of masses of paper.

I take it that these goody-goods who demand no oil drilling don’t use computers, drive or ride in cars, write with ballpoints, have toothbrushes, toilet seats or shower curtains, motorbike helmets, anything with tyres….they don’t travel by air or use any kind of phone.

If they have their way, all these things will be gone soon as they are all made with or from oil. What do they think that phones and computers are made from ?

‘They come across as arrogant little know-alls, which may go with being that age but is not very attractive.’ sez kitty

I agree, that a couple of the speakers, in the octagon were.. sort of.. pushing this message, that the ‘older generations’ need a wake up call. BUT I think most were happy, to see groups like SCAN (seniors climate action network) also present to support them. BUT as i was reminded at the last event (15/3) ‘it is their day.. let them say their piece’ :/

btw; this time there were no local MPs present (making speeches).. but I did notice the two ‘green’ DCC councilors in the crowd & Sth D Lab. MP walking by.. 🙂
